Lent Time

Post by GodGamesGirls »

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and want to ease into it. So I wll start simple. It was recently Ash Wednesday, so its means Lent has started. I don't know what other denominations celebrate Lent, but regardless your suppose to give something for 40 days, just as Jesus gave up food for 40 days. So all you Catholic's and other denominations who celebrate Lent, what did you give up for Lent? I gave up FaceBook and trying to stay away from looking at women as physical

If they had a social gospel in the days of the prodigal son, somebody would have given him a bed and a sandwich and he never would have gone home.

PC is so passe though.

Bart, glad to know that was even an option for you  .

I won't go into what I gave up as it is rather personal but I think we can all stand to reflect a little inwardly to see how we can get closer to Jesus and how we can help others (ok, sermon over, carry on).
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
