HAVE quantum fluctuations in Big Bang inflation theory refuted the need for a Creator God?
Has the quantum fluctuations in the Big Bang inflation theory refuted theism and provided overwhelming evidence for atheists? (Or at least refute all of WLC's apologetics arguments?) Have atheists proven that the universe can create itself? (Ironically, this seemingly mythical argument seems to be fully supported by quantum mechanics

Re: Some questions about cosmology
Agnostics, welcome to the forum. I'm sorry, but I meant to get to your post quite some time ago - somehow I apparently failed to approve it.Agnostics wrote: ↑Tue Sep 09, 2025 8:42 am Has the quantum fluctuations in the Big Bang inflation theory refuted theism and provided overwhelming evidence for atheists? Well, linked below at the bottom of this post, you will find a great article addressing and REFUTING the belief that supposed scientific evidences have revealed quantum mechanics have PROVEN that our universe could have created itself. The reality of the evidences hasn't come close! Of course, as you'll see in the linked article, whenever physicists assert the universe could have come from "nothing," they never truly mean it could have come from ZILCH / NOTHING! As in modern physics, NO such thing as NOTHING actually exists!
Even in a perfect vacuum, pairs of virtual particles are constantly being created [i.e., by briefly “borrowing” energy already in existence—JM] and destroyed. The existence of these particles is no mathematical fiction. And although they cannot be directly observed, the effects they create are quite real. The assumption that they exist leads to predictions that have been confirmed by experiment to a high degree of accuracy (Morris, 1990, p. 25, emp. added).
In fact, quantum cosmologists insist both concerning this theorized "absolute Nothingness," while simultaneously endowing it with various qualities and characteristics! Note what theoretical physicist Alexander Vilenkin has been quoted as stating:
"A quantum fluctuation of the vacuum assumes that there was a vacuum of some pre-existing space. And we now know that “vacuum” is very different from “nothing.” Vacuum, or empty space, has energy and tension, it can bend and warp, so it is unquestionably something." (2006, p. 185, ital. in orig., emp. added).
