Re: In defense of objective morals

The point I was making has nothing to do with weather the treatment of these animals is wrong or not, it’s about the fact that people disagree on the issue, and their position cannot be demonstrated as right or wrong. Yes, people disagree. Again, this isn't an argument that undermines OM. You keep ...

Re: In defense of objective morals

Rape is easy? Have you raped someone Kenny... y:-/ I said rape is easy because everybody agrees on that issue. I think Proinsias made an excellent point about the treatment of animals. The fact that animals raised for food will live an entire life of torture up to the point of slaughter. We...

Re: Forgiveness

Forgiveness would be a point where you can begin praying for them, not because it would benefit you, but simply out of your concern for them.

I don't think it is a matter of you not experiencing hurt for their actions, or continuing to be hurt by the ongoing nonsense.

Re: Why do you believe in god?

I have recently been watching several testimonies of people who have come to Christ in adulthood. One was a Jewish lady who was even head of her local synagogue, another a drug using-wild as a buck, skateboarder. Interestingly, in none of those situations were apologetics questions even an issue. Ye...

Re: Tithing

Tithing is an Old Testament practice, which, when established had nothing to do with currency, but with offerings to support the Levitical priesthood. However, this is common on the COC, which I am quite familiar with. There is nothing in the NT to support tithing among Gentiles. Giving, on the othe...

Re: The real issue with science

The point is made clearly in the article. What point did you have, it posting about something so well known and often talked about? maybe that the "NDE studies" given such credence by some here might conceivably not offer the final Proof? Well known? How are you determining whether it's w...

Re: Is the popular Gospel false?

I listened to part of this. Part of what i hear him dealing with (subtly) is many of the issues regarding the subject of total depravity in reformed theology, which would definitely hold to what he states as the false gospel. The issue of how we are dead in sin is an age old discussion. However, I'...

Re: If God designed our brain, why is it so flawed?

I know several cars that have rusted parts. That doesn't mean they were designed to rust. Here is a good question. Is there an ideal way a brain SHOULD operate? Or, how do we measure a 'good' brain versus a 'bad' one? How would you make the claim that altering the brain to destroy character is a def...

Re: Scientists discover the world's first known warm-blooded

The headline is a bit misleading as endothermy has long been known in a variety of fish. Such as is of interest and value in the article is in any case lost on those whose best response is some crude jape . Audie, There you go again with your derogatory terms for Japanese. :shakehead: Its descripti...

Re: Scientists discover the world's first known warm-blooded

I am interested to hear what members here think of biologos.org, who promote evolution and Christianity together and evolution doesn't disprove Christianity nor creation. Evolution doesn't 'disprove' Christianity. Christianity isn't founded on scientific theories being true or untrue. I think the t...
