Many of you might be unfamiliar with the ministry of Allen Parr. He is an excellent speaker and Christian apologist who strives to make Scripture and the Bible his guide to proper teaching, spiritual beliefs, and correct theological understandings. While I am not a cessationist, I nonetheless recognize that massive abuse pervades many churches that have a hyper focus on the so-called "sign" gifts of the Spirit - in which they have abused, misapplied and / or misunderstood certain passages per their encouraged questionable practices and teachings. These practices and teachings include things that are either not found in the Bible or concern portions of their doctrines that have been created around various unclear, uncertain or otherwise contradicting Biblical passages. And many of these abuses are emotionally or peer-driven. In this important video, Parr addresses his concerns and cautions, while also asserting many others might do so as well, by reassessing their own questionable practices, in light of what Scripture actually teaches.
