If you haven't ever heard this man's story, about his experience of dying and seeing Heaven, you need to watch these two amazing videos! The first one gives an overview of what happened, but the the second one goes into a lot more detail and about the impact around the world afterward. While he stood at the gates of Heaven, he didn't enter the city, but could see astonishing elements within it, through the gates. A crowd of Christians he had known met him at the gate - his grandfather, past friends, etc. Don Piper only wrote a book about his experience 14 years after this horrific, yet incredible event happened, which was later turned into an internationally famous movie. Don Piper was a pastor killed and declared dead by four paramedics after a horrific head-on collision with a large truck. The movie is '90 minutes in Heaven.' Don's testimony is backed by documented facts and is incredibly powerful, moving and compelling - a very sober, serious telling of a truly extraordinary experience.
While all of us have probably heard of so-called near-death experiences (NDEs), many of them nonetheless seem bogus and manufactured or fail to match up with what Scripture teaches. They often speak of non-Christians that have briefly died and tell of entering a tunnel of light and having a tremendous sense of peace, etc. Or they tell of experiencing a "heaven" of incredible beauty, angels, extraordinary colors, skies, astonishing wonders, etc. - but yet typically nothing about God / Jesus - which the Bible says is Heaven's ultimate focus and glory. And people of non-Christian faiths have also had such NDEs - so, it would seem that deceptions can even happen during NDEs, as unsaved persons have experienced them - or at least claimed to. Yet Piper's story is VERY different! And Don kept his experience to himself for a very long time before ever writing a book. And, much later, the book was turned into an internationally successful movie. And yet, Piper never profited from any of its financial returns - channeling it all into ministry! And the aftermath of how God used this miraculous event and the terrible suffering Don endured afterward is equally incredible! Interestingly, Piper notes that, before his experience, he would never have thought such an experience of Heaven, and then returning to life on earth, would even be possible.
