Hello,
am around as well.

How are you?
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

Ah, where do I start? Lack of work in my case, then my husband losing his job a few weeks ago; he started a new one after about a month and then a week or so later had a mysterious accident (he can't remember exactly what happened) and was in hospital for a few days. He was back to work today however. Also my son's beloved $300-or-so scooter got stolen a couple of weeks ago. :x

Hey Mallz

I’m doing really good....teaching my eldest son how to drive which is always a test in patience and perseverance which I totally lack at lol. It’s scary!

That old age adage “do as I say not as I do”......I’m kidding, I’m a very good driver
I have small moments of road rage but I’m working through it lol

Hey Rick
He’s doing okay....thanks for asking. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster but he’s right now doing well. A typical 17yr old, spending too much time on his PlayStation and not enough time on his studies but I cut him a pretty wide birth. He’s at school and still waiting for an apprenticeship in automotive electronics so he’s really biding his time.
He’s a good egg.....that one so I think he’ll be okay. He still has his struggles with self esteem ect but he knows his annoying, pesky Mum stands by him always.
Plus he’s determined and a dreamer....potentially a good combination.

Greetings, Mel - great to hear from you!

My 15-year-old is constantly glued to the XBox / PlayStation gaming as well - I mean, he's obsessed with it. I worry about it, not sure how to address it. Let me know if you come up with the solution! And next month, I start teaching him to drive - that's gonna be a trip I'm absolutely dreading!

I remember enjoying video games as a teen (very basic graphics they were back then) but I only really got to play on Saturday (when my father played golf and so wasn't using the TV or playing horrible music in the lounge) - the hours would go by very quickly. I'm thinking it could be a good idea to restrict them to one or more days a week when they can play as much as they want (outside school hours) and the other days it's not even a thing. My two pre-teens like to use their phones a lot for games, Instagram and YouTube, but I think they have a balanced life, in that they also go to school, do homework sometimes, ride their scooters and interact in person with friends. As for me, social media's my main thing now but if I have to do something else I just do it. I can understand kids' attachment to these kinds of entertainment though.
