Important to note, is something I recall Craig saying about Ehrman which is this:
  • "there are two Bart Ehrmans: the scholarly Ehrman and the popular Ehrman. The scholarly Ehrman knows the text of the New Testament has been established to 99% accuracy, and with greater certainty than any other ancient document, but the popular Ehrman gives the impression that important Christian doctrines are up in the air because we are uncertain about which of the early textual variants for particular verses reflect the original text.
Ehrman and Craig both studies at the same college, even sharing same professors in some subjects. Not to detract your linked-to shared debate, but here's a talk by Craig on Ehrman you might find interesting:

Ehrmann uses his position and knowledge to justify his unbelief. As you mention he obviously knows better but chooses to spread doubt and unbelief among thousands. Maybe by now he actually believes himself, I don't know.
If the truth hurts, maybe it should.
