Hello. May I ask what denomination are you?
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me.
Hello.
I am an atheist, and am here out of curiosity.
I come here not to be converted, nor to convert others, as I highly doubt either would happen. I hope to carry out civil, well-reasoned discussions for the sake of intellectual exercise.

Welcome Reyen.

Hi Audie! Just from perusing the site I've already seen your huge presence.
Yes. For a little woman, she sure does have a large presence.
Welcome to the forum Reyen.

How did I end up here, the first religious forum I've ever joined?? It's a v-e-r-r-y l-o-n-g story. The super compressed version is I've been aware of Bryan Melvin's NDE for awhile and I had a big theology question for him. Took a long time to find B.W.'s hangout but I feel God has lead me here. My question was answered and then some from B.W.'s postings. Intuition told me that B.W. would have insight and it turned out to be 100% correct.
Nearing 60 yrs and been away from the faith for much of my life due to a variety of reasons. In the last couple years I got more and more interested in all things Bible, etc. It happened gradually starting a good ten years and so subtle I didn't realize the Holy Spirit was doing this until the past year.
Looking forward to discussing things with you, I love debating different opinions and I promise I wont try and convert you (Im saving that all for Audie and Ken )
Hi JB
B.W.s book is simply stunning isnt it? I have to say that the few words you posted really moved me, dunno why but they did. Good to see you.
And welcome to anyone I may have missed.

Ah, but have you seen that picture of little Rickie and his plus-size wife? Yep, Audie's our little fireball - she drives us crazy but we all love her!

Thanks Storyteller and B.W. for the warm welcome.
My question was concerning Calvinism. Grew up in a super hyper Calvinist atmosphere in a Reformed congregation which was so far beyond Calvin I didn't know it was Calvinist or who Jean Calvin was until the internet age!!! I left it at 19 and never stepped back inside. I've had various "issues" with the stuff they espoused especially as I began "My Journey Back" when I started paying attention to what the Bible really says...in context.
Bryan has answered my question very well. As I go along I'm sure I'll have more.
My life experience with farming then police career (almost 1/2 of that was forensics/crime scene) I have a lot of insight into the human race, nature, science etc. Which means I have a lot of thoughts and opinions on many things but not so much spiritual until recent years. My story may be interesting and hopefully of help to someone but its way too get into right now.
I feel I struck a gold mine here so you'll probably see some old posts dredged up as I discover them.
