I watched Bill Weiss saying on You Tube if you're a Christian and fail to notify a sinner on his sin .... God will require your blood for that sin (or something like that)..

Bill Weiss cites this scripture:

Ezekiel 33:8

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. (KJV)

He says it here at 13:15 minutes ...... : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYxKRoONrfY

Is this true?
If a sinner brings sin in your path or notifies you about it ... and you fail to call him on it .. you will be punished for HIS sin. At least that's what I'm hearing here. Could someone please explain this to me? The more I research into all this hell stuff the more it feels like everyone is going to hell regardless..

And I will say it again,

You really have no idea what the new covenant is, and what Christ's death and resurrection has done.

I think one of the most famous verses in the Bible addresses your concern quite nicely.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

:)

Yes, leave it to people to make what God made exceptionally simple into a nightmare of legalism and works-based religiosity - the whole "Jesus-plus" mentality!

But we MUST follow OT law, in order to be a good Christian!

None of these comments are helpful. But that's ok.

The verse says when "I" (meaning God) say unto the "wicked" (meaning wicked man or people). I'm not wicked and God didn't tell me this specifically so this verse is inapplicable to me at this time.

The full text is more helpful.

God was telling Ezekiel, a prophet of God, that if he didn't warn his people who didn't know any better, God would require their blood at his hands!

God was giving Ezekiel all the motivation he needed to warn his people of their sin! I'm pretty sure God was speaking directly to Ezekiel and not US.

While we need to warn unbelievers in the same way, no one in Jesus Christ is going to hell for not telling everyone they ever met the Gospel.

I just noticed acts chapter 20 verse 25 to 26: Now I know that none of you among whom I have preached the kingdom will see my face again. 26 Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men.

So maybe Bill W. is correct? Not sure what to think.

edit: According to the John Calvin commentary, the call of the watchmen is given to Pastors of the Church. If someone under a pastors care is mislead about the requirement for salvation, their blood may be on the Pastor's hands.

Without watching the entire video, I think I can see the context of what the speaker was saying. He was stressing the importance of preaching the gospel. He wasn't saying that we will be punished in hell for not preaching the gospel. He mentioned the verses he did, to show the importance of preaching the gospel, not to show that they pertain to us.

I can't speak for anything else he said, but I don't disagree with that particular part of the video.
