He has brought many people to the Lord, what have you done?

How is he a complete and utter buffoon?
Sorry to have insulted your hero, Stu.

I'm sure Kent Hovind is a swell guy.

Nah not at all, watched a couple of his videos and found them interesting.

I just don't think it's fair to label someone who has saved souls and works for God as a complete and utter buffoon. He has his Young Earth beliefs and you have your Old Earth beliefs. Both allow for salvation.

Stu,

I wasn't referring to his young earth beliefs, as His buffoonery. If you reread my quote, you'll see that I was referring to the reason he was arrested, and not taking responsibility for what he did.

And contrary to what some people believe, only God can save souls. And Kent Hovind is not God.

Well your (USA) laws are ridiculous. They punish people for using their own money how they see fit.

You're telling me Kent Hovind hasn't help bring people to Jesus?

First, if Hovind has helped bring people to a saving faith in Christ, then I applaud him for that.

But, as a man who has placed himself in the public eye, he needs to be held publicly accountable for his errors.

If you think Hovind simply used "his own" money as he saw fit, and was arrested for it, you may want to read how Hovind was convicted by a jury, on all counts of a fifty-eight count endictment.

Stu,

I've said this before, but I guess I need to repeat it. I really have no problem if someone wants to believe in a young earth. But when someone who is young earth, or has any other creation belief, and pushes that belief as being equal to scripture itself, then that's where I have an issue. It just so happens that in my experience, it has only been certain yecs who have done that.

Almost anything can be potentially dangerous as is making blanket statements.
I wasn't meaning all are bad. I put two examples since they are the bad ones.

Why does YEC ministries (sometimes OEC too) call creationism "science" when it doesn't usually follow the scientific method? Or if they do they tend to use mistakes or bad science.

Maybe because they claim that science supports their narrative?

YECs often base their assertions upon assumptions that have been overwhelmingly repeated to be false - such as past statements about observations of things like starlight - having asserted that perhaps the speed of light was once very different, or that the stars can't possibly be so far away, etc. No death before the fall - how silly, how unwarranted.
