Oh, Mel.
Your family will be family of strong people.
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:21

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
-- Philippians 1:6

Unbelievable, Mel! Praying for you guys! Just when you are reeling from your injury, another shoe drops - undoubtedly even more difficult to absorb with it being your child!

Mel,

I'm starting to think you are cursed!

How is your son doing today?

He came home from hospital today.
We were initially told he would need a full leg cast, he was in a full cast after his first op but when they did the surgery they used a bit more hardware, drilling a rod through the bone just under his knee to his ankle securing it in place with screws. So three incisions in the leg but because it was held in place so securely no need for a cast.
He has it all bandaged up to his thigh and will need a boot and crutches for 12-16 weeks and then intensive physio.
Just glad to have him home

Dear Lord woman! Prayers in supplication for you and your family. y[-o<
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Riley is doing pretty okay actually, moving around well on the crutches even though at this stage that's not often and managing the pain really well.
I think he's quite liking having everyone at his beck and call!
I'm doing okay, my pain is lessening but I can't straighten my fingers still or rotate my wrist. I have an appointment tomorrow for an X-ray at the hospital and to see the bone doctor so will check to see if any nerves were damaged.
Riley is young and handling it better than an old duck like me  :wheelchair:

Mel,

You need to be extra careful. At your age, you're susceptible to brittle bones and osteoporosis.

You may also fall and break a hip.

Please be careful!

Edit:
It was very nice of you to post an avatar picture of your mom.

Good choice Mel. Please tell your mom she doesn't look a day over 58.
