Hello, I'm an 16 year old boy from Norway. I've been reading a lot on this site lately(and other Christian apologethics sites), and I must say that I have grown a lot in my faith. Thanks for a great site. :D

Anyway, I figured I'd sign up here, so that I may take part in some of the very interesting discussions that are going on. I suppose I won't be able to contribute very much, but...

BTW I'm a Protestant..

I guess it is about time I say HI. I came to this site a while ago for good reading and finally found a Forum linked to the Godandscience Website. I am a Computer Tech for Company in Calgary, AB and enjoy Science and Religion. I have met many Agnostics and Atheists in my life that have Challenged my Greatly. My Faith has been Tormented many Times yet through God I came out with Victory! I love the Diversity of this Forum all across Dominations, and even religions! :D

Thanks Again

Tim

I exist... Hmmm...guess I need more than that. I don't like talking about my self on the web...that privacy thing, but I'm basically a College student from GA. I love to think about crazy things and debate about such things. :)

I was wondering if someone could tell me where the software for this forum came from. I've seen other forums that look almost exactly the same and was thinking perhaps its like a standard package or something. <shrug> I was thinking about starting a forum or something, or at least seeing how some of the code looks. :) Fun stuff code can be.

Hello. Jac3510 referred me to this site a few times, and I think it's really cool. I probably won't post much, but I'll be reading a ton.

Therefore, this message board is intended to reflect that spirit--serving as a place where sincere seekers can ask questions, and where faithful Christians can receive encouragement and instruction. This board is not for those who have already decisively made up their mind that Christ is "not" for them; who merely wish to debate and argue against Christianity, ignoring any and all reasons presented. Therefore, those who are Christian or haven't made up their minds are encouraged to join, while others who merely wish to attack and try to discredit Christianity are discouraged.

Hi, everyone.

I am a 50 yrs italian from Turin. I am coming here with a fundamental question: can I be accepted in this forum?

Please consider that it is not my intention to make troubles, nor to be unpolite. I have read the Guidelines, and I must confess that I have some difficulties in deciding to which category I can belong, according to what I have quoted above.
I try to explain better: on one side, I feel like a sincere seeker, because I have many questions in my mind. Therefore, I should be encouraged. On the other side, I feel like one who made already his mind. Therefore, I should be discouraged.

One of my strongest convinctions is that the dialogue among persons is essential and it is the only alternative to fights.

Can a dialogue be established here?

Thanks for reading.

It truly depends on the attitude with which you seek Alien. But I must ask: Why ask the questions if you've already made up your mind as to the validity of the answers that you'll receive? In other words, what purpose do your questions serve if you've already made up your mind?

Hello to all.

I heard about Jesus and met many Christians trying to do good, and not being themselves. So I read the Bible and could not make head nor tail of it.

I heard a Jewish man on the radio speak with authority about Jesus and he could tell me where I was at with my backend facing forward. He said if I did not forgive my parents I would not live a long life. I had to give up resentment. I acted on this like listening to a Prophet and in trembling approached my bully of a father. I apologized for resenting him and explained why. I did not ask for forgiveness. The scales fell from my eyes and an old man appeared who I did not have to like but whom I loved.

Then I hunted for this Jewish man's rope, the faith that he lived by, and I found it was in Jesus.

So one night I prayed and said 'I do not understand you Jesus, yet I know you deliberately died for me, so I ask you and your Father to come into me for my life has been nothing but confusion and selfishness.'
Nothing happened and I went to bed. The next morning I woke up and it was like I was seeing in colour. I knew no person was evil but they were slaves to their compulsions and anger. So my journey began. This was 19 years ago.

Dealing with temptation is character building. Like in professional soccer, when you get down you've got to quickly get up again. You develop perseverance.

I joined a Church and found love, and also people willing to exceed faith, like creating situations and say "there see, God was in that." I wanted to walk with every moment and so felt out of step.

Then there came a time to put my staff in the ground, and say this is where I stand and heaven and hell will not prevail. That was then Jesus's words became truly real, speaking to my heart, and him saying 'my purpose is that you will become like me'. I was not following my idol anymore. I was becoming myself as God intended, as Jesus intended, by living by the Spirit. It is like an out pouring of love for reality. I do not just see words of scripture but the people who wrote those words as well. And this is not me being special but me being normal. The Lord has freed me to come back to myself. I was once lost, but know I am found.

Jesus said 'I am the truth the Way and the Life, no one comes to the father except through me.' You won't unless you live and be like Jesus.

Belonging to a Church, or asking in The Name of Jesus, wont cut it. You will cast out demons only because you have authority from God. But that will not be a sign to say you are a follower of The Way. Your sign will be you love of God with heart mind and soul and love of your neighbor as yourself; to carry the sword of love and truth, and the breast plate of Righteousness.

If I am welcome I will cut through the curtain of religion and heal with the love of Christ, and reveal how the world has been put together.

If you would like to know this elderly Jewish man's website I will share it, for he is providing a nursery where the fallen are at. He is getting his hands dirty for God.

For now you may wish to see my son's website http://www.soclose.co.uk and later a website for more searching and challenging theology.

May we all support one another on this walk.

What do you mean by, "cut through the curtain of religion"?

There is no curtain of religion. I do not like the world religion because man has corrupted it and made it something dirty. I would prefer to think of myself as spiritual more than religious. Because the spirit is of god.
You either are or your not, and only you and the lord know if you are or your not. Being rightious is not about showing people how much your doing for the community that is man, or how much you pray to god. It is said in the bible that God prefers these things to be done in secret and he will reward those who follow his command.

Hi Hermitville,

I was thinking about the Jewish religion and the symbolism of the curtain in the temple being rent in two.

Is it not the problem of Man to fall back into the Old Ways? Into superstition? Is that after all what religion is, a series of rituals to take to the Altar of the Lord, but not enter in?

Inspiring testimony Kendrick.

Some Christians want happiness in this life and holiness in the next. I'd like to think that God would desire the reverse for us.
