Mature, Necessary vs. Toxic Masculinity

There is a lot in media and society that questions or threatens masculine traits in men. But God did not create us to be women, but men. And vice versa. But there needs to be a balance in how a man plays out his God-given masculinity - as it can become toxic to himself and others if used without restraints and self discipline.

Jesus was THE model for proper masculinity. He was tough, did not shy away from conflict or confrontation, boldly stated warnings to people for their actions, was protective - ruthlessly and physically ran the moneychangers (twice) from the Temple, and willingly and stoically and intentionally faced a most brutal physical torture and death. And yet, He also showed unfathomable love, tenderness, compassion, and He unashamedly wept when He saw people in great sorrow and hurt.
