I'd say if one isn't pro-life, and one is a Christian, it would be inconsistent with Christianity's teachings. But choosing to be pro-life isn't the barometer for faith in Christ.

What issues are clouded with labels?

Pro-life in war or in regards to the death penalty? Pro-choice on parents killing their children? They're merely labels which tend to obfuscate or distract from truths in the matter, while perhaps claiming some kind of morality.
