Re: Rick Perry
Very well... One thing I like about him is his stance with Israel. He is pretty solid on that.. Check out Herman Cain's stance on Israel. While the International scene, isn't Cain's forte, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised about where he stands. Besides, Cain's not a career politician. That's ...

Re: Rick Perry
I believe that Rick Perry has our best interest at hand.. This guy, I believe, has a sincere heart for God although many people try to derail him. And about certain bloopers, ALL of the candidates have them. They just try to harp on a few, but all of them have them. I hope he prevails.. I absolutel...

Re: Free will and Omniscience
Certainly God will save who he wishes to save, just as God shows mercy on whom He wishes to show. BUT we also know that God is a God of love and justice and that God's justice IS, indeed MUST BE, far greater and more correct than ours. If that is so, then God predestinaing some for eternal damnatio...

Re: Water baptism/split from free will predestination thread
Good post jlay. I won't quote everything you posted, just to say that I agree with you. I did want to speak to one thing you said in your post though: I would be curious to know why someone professing faith would refuse the ordinance. I can only speak for myself here, but the reason why I never got ...

RickD wrote:I still cannot reconcile God choosing, without any doing on man's part, eternal damnation for some people. It's VERY simple. Re: Free will and Omniscience
I still cannot reconcile God choosing, without any doing on man's part, eternal damnation for some people. I have not understood this sentence. What you cannot reconcile with what? I cannot reconcile the drastic belief that some hold to, that God chooses some people to be eternally damned, in hell,...

Re: Free will and Omniscience
http://www.godandscience.org/doctrine/predestination.html Predestination In order to fulfill His prophecies, God must predestine history to a certain degree. The Bible clearly indicates that God predestined redemptive history, specifically, the coming of the Messiah. Jesus clearly indicated that Hi...

Re: Water baptism/split from free will predestination thread
then I realized that once I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour, that I believe that He died and was ressurected and that I know He will come again, that I have already been "baptized" by the HS. :amen: :amen:   That is what I'm trying to say, as well. The baptism of the Holy...

Re: Free will and Omniscience
Rick, if it is God who begins the work in us prior to our faith, then it is He and not man who makes the difference between the quick and the dead. I agree that God begins the work in us, prior to our faith. But I'll also add that "our faith" is enabled by God. That may be the same thing ...

Re: Free will and Omniscience
Danny, could you please define free will, in the context of this conversation? Like I said before, maybe "free will" isn't the proper term. But, for the sake of me trying to understand you, I need to know how you are defining that, and also how you define "predestination" as it ...

Re: Water baptism/split from free will predestination thread
I had a load of verses quoted, but unfortunately got butchered. I am tired with all the effort I put yesterday. Sorry guys, but I'll go ahead and link you to a site. http://www.bebaptized.org It has all the answers. All the objections you guys have or comments on baptism is addressed there. Read it...

Re: Free will and All loving vs. Predestination and Devine *
zacchaeus, I can tell you what I believe. But, let me warn you, the topic of assurance of salvation, is pretty similar to this topic. In that, there's a whole spectrum of beliefs there, as well. So you don't believe one can choose through repetitive sin (become reprobates) and choose to surrender th...

Re: Free will and All loving vs. Predestination and Devine *
What if your a Calvinist or you believe in predestination and your not predestined for eternal life in Heaven but predestined for hell, yet you spend years defending the gospel of predestination and/or Calvinism? That would suck... :esurprised: Zacchaeus, Don't forget that Calvinists believe in Chr...
