Let me ask you this, do you consider yourself Catholic? No. From what I've gathered (this might be false assumptions) the Catholic interpretation of certain vague passages in the Bible lead to traditions which were simply started by the Church and not an actual instruction of Jesus' at all. I once ...

Those quotes are worse than my New Living Translation.

The NLT totally removes all beauty of language and instead speaks in plain and boring english used by six year olds in our modern day.

As far as I know, there are New Testament versions of the bible that have colorful visuals which include colored pictures and all sorts of artistic features. The problem is that they are shortened versions that are mostly meant for kids, not for serious bible study. That's what I've noticed. I was ...

I'm not surprised at all.

I often feel much more positive after letting water run through my hands and from washing my face with just water.

I camped along the Delaware River and each morning and night I'd rinse my face off in the river. It felt beautiful.

Very interesting.

I know far too many people who take an impersonal stance towards God (if He exists they presume). This enables them only to feel His possible presence but not His love.

I fear that many people upon their death will greatly regret their lethargy in researching religion and God.

A Colorful Bible

Is there a Bible on the market which has its pages abounding in color at all? I ask because I have four Bibles: 1) King James Version - black covers - plain paper - chapter marks - brief titles such as " The Temptation in the Wilderness" and such. 2) New Living Translation - deep red cover...

Yeah me too. I wonder if Woody ever ended up going to one of Billy's revivals. I don't remember which clip it was but I totally agree with Billy Grahams assessment that if Woody Allen ever got saved he would make a great preacher. I believe it. Hehe, I think it was a "hollywood promise" a...

As we can recognize a true believer by his works --- pulling a gun is definitely not a sign of a content and calm heart within Christ. 8) An audience member shouts "Blasphemer!" to which he pulls a gun. Why not have a discussion with the heckler and come to some understandings? Why not sim...

That was cool! Woody and Billy were both quick with their wits. Woody is not the most moral person but I respected him for the way he treated Billy. The interview is continued on another clip on that site which is just as interesting. The thing I found most interesting was the charisma of Billy Gra...

Discussing Religion with Family

I'll just briefly summarize my family and their thoughts on things. Dad: Agnostic Step-Mom: Catholic Step-Grandma: Catholic Step-Sister: Catholic This is a very brief summary of the faith (and lack of) held by the members of the family who I live with. Religious discussion is impossible and somethin...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I greatly appreciate the thoughts and advice. I have an interesting story to share which will demonstrate the addiction (as I believe it to be) and how it can deter my mind from meaningful things. I didn't attend the graduation ceremony at my high school. Instead I ...

The link to the second part is in the right hand section. Very funny interaction between the agnostic and the christian.

Enjoy. :)

Atticus, I hear ever word you are saying. It is just as hard for Christians if we don't lean fully on Christ for this sin. The flesh will always try to get it's way. I'm certainly no poster boy for victory in this area, but I do feel God at work in my struggles when I focus on Him and surrender to ...

Biblical Contradictions Refutations

Hi all, I'd quickly like to thank everyone for patiently answering my recent questions that I've shared. I'm wondering if any of you know of an excellent web source for a refutation to the common biblical contradictions? I've found some but they tend to use a few examples and then say, "See, th...
