Kurieuo, I was hoping you might have time to respond to my previous post about Jehovah Witnesses. Sure, I'd be happy to. There are several issues you can raise and discuss with them, but if you don't know where to start then they definitely will (they get taught to witness afterall ;)). I think if ...

I would agree. From God's perspective, he knows who is saved...and they cannot be taken away from Him. However...and I think you agreed...from a human perspective, a person is free to choose and unchoose God as the Peter text clearly states. They had escaped the corruption and knew the Lord and Sav...

 - any qualifications here? Or should we lead people to believe Satan fights for a good cause (i.e., for peace and harmony), whereas God would actually prefer turmoil and destruction. I don't believe such an impression is good to leave, nor is true.

Bav, Before we deal with specifics, I thought you were a Calvinist? ...and where did you get that idea? Aren't you? I thought you were also... or at least from a Church with reformed teaching. :P I haven't read everything here, so I will perhaps add my own direct reply a little later if I think aft...

I think A2C's post contains a lot of valid points. I actually think we can discover about God and who He is through His general revelation (i.e., nature). <blockquote>"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, bei...

If heaven (whatever heaven might mean to you?) is an action of accepting "justification payment" (whatever that also may mean?), then how could one not be justified after such payment is made? What is the need for anything else, such as further works, if one is justified by accepting the j...

Hi Innocente. I don't mean to put the spotlight on you, or perhaps I do... but can you offer any reasons why one should accept your words as authoritative? For example, I am willing to place my faith in the words of the NT because it is a deposit from the Apostolic tradition, which is closer to Chri...

Even so, Why is there no measure of time during the life of Jesus Christ? Can anyone else answer this with more than a one line answer. I'm not sure what you're trying to say, but what you are saying here if I understand right is just flat wrong. Christ died in 33 A.D., three years before which it ...

Re: My Plight as an Agnostic

I have noticed many people talking about who made God if God created the Universe. This question is based on an unsound and faulty premise which either leads to absurdities or is self-refuting (depending on which way you go). As mentioned earlier, I am writing a response which will provide more det...

Who Made God?

Bertrand Russel (1872-1970) in his work, Why I Am Not A Christian writes: I may say that when I was a young man and was debating these questions very seriously in my mind, I for a long time accepted the argument of the First Cause, until one day, at the age of eighteen, I read John Stuart Mill's aut...

Lust outside of marriage is a sin, wouldn't you agree? I Actually, because of your second-last post, I've actually come to understand the meaning of lust slightly different (if it wasn't obvious in my last post). Before, I always associated lust with sexual desire, although I knew it can be used in...

I think there is an extra mile that could be taken in just about everything. For example, why are you just thinking of giving the newer item? Couldn't you afford to dedicate several of the same item? Do you have a house? Why don't you give it a Church or sell it and give the money to the poor. What ...

Honestly, I can do it without imagining a person at all... it's irrelevant, because lust is lust, whether the object is your own pleasure itself or a human being. I think Amber was just associating the thought of a headless body (some sickos around ;)) as lusting after that body, but if you really ...

Re: My Plight as an Agnostic

Hi Bobby, They never seem willing to accept, that this Universe may be eternal and all that is. Why is this so? I can't speak for others, but there are several logical arguments, and also scientific arguments on why I don't accept our universe to be eternal. I won't get into the logical arguments as...

Hi Mustang, You might be interested to know that there are quite a few articles to do with Mormons on this website (see http://www.godandscience.org/cults/index.html ). Rich has also compared some of the differences in doctrines between Mormons and mainstream Christianity at http://www.godandscience...
