XenonII, what would you think of a married man having a vasectomy, or a married woman having her tubes tied, after having several kids? Would this really be wrong? I think not. And there are plenty of conceivable situations in which contraception could validly be used. Maybe a married couple doesn't...

Yes I did read the article but I still believe getting people to believe in a new God presents such a greater problem than anything else that if this can be overcome then the rest can be swept aside easily enough. I don't see any reason whatsoever to believe that. You have to look at the cultural c...

That bias does not prove someting false. I agree- but I don't understand your "Huh?" response to my statement that it stops you being able to make a fully educated decision. My "Huh?" was because your wording was unclear. I couldn't pick out what you were saying. Bias doesn't ma...

Any religion has the insurmountable problem of convincing people their God is "the real God". This is extremely difficult and to me any other problems are insignificant compared to this. You're going to have to do better than that. The fact is that this isn't as big a problem as you seem ...

Sorry, couldn't force myself to read all of it- so ridiculously biased, but oh wait, according to that bias isn't a bad thing. That's not what it said at all. It simply pointed out that arguments will have a bias behind them, no matter what. That bias does not prove someting false. You are burning ...

Perhaps you could tell me the difference between the trustworthiness of a group of people who wrote the Bible and a group of people who write about having seen ghosts- why believe one and not the other? See here . If you want to say that people who have written about ghosts were the same way, offer...

This does not verify the truth, it blatantly ignores the problems other religions hadto overcome and passes them off with half a sentence, choosing only to delve further when it suits- how convenient. You didn't read all the way to the bottom, did you? Holding does offer analysis of three different...

I'm afraid I don't see how that link even begins to verify the truth of Christianity- it merely raises ways in which Christianity may have attempted to be more successful. Obviously it isn't common for a religion to last as long as Christianity but some have lasted longer so it isn't on its own. I ...

Jerickson, I think your part 1) is quite debatable- it would be more enlightening to explain what evidence there is that verifies the truth of Christianity that isn't available for other religions. Start here . However, this is quite a big topic, much too big for a single forum post. "Historic...

See this article - it examines many of the claims of Jesus that he was God. (Most specifics are in the articles it links to, not the main article.)

No, I think your interpretation (though I have seen it before) is over-literalistic and silly. The fact that your interpretation means it is describing something "impossible" is quite a big hint that your interpretation is wrong. It is a reference to men having sex with men by some means....

The Leviticus passage isn't all the Bible has to say on the topic. We are not under the laws of Leviticus they were specifically for the jews and part of the old convenant that was superceded with the new with the coming of Christ so I don't think we have to worry about what Leviticus (a sexist hom...

Well, neither uses experimental techniques to test falsifiable conclusions. Therefore, it does not fit their definition of "science".

If you want to annoy them, start calling algebra "psuedoscience". It doesn't fit that definition, either.

HelpMeGod, you're not the first person to have such struggles. Even the apostle Paul had some of the same problems: For I don't know what I am doing. For I don't practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do. But if what I don't desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good. So ...
