Re: RTB: Serious Problems with Evolution
Great point Stu! Maybe Hugh thinks the biblical story about Jesus, is a fable as well. At least that would be consistent. Finally happened. Your saracm has went over your head. "Has went"? I thought you went to college... Oh, so solly! I neglected to take any ethnic studies courses on Tra...

Re: RTB: Serious Problems with Evolution
No, I don't. There are various polls of dubious provenance about, most of which suggest that 60% of Americans believe it's true, most of whom are evangelicals, while only 44% of Catholics do. How that applies to the rest of the world is anyone's guess. Splendid. It's not quite a response to my ques...

Re: RTB: Serious Problems with Evolution
Hugh, Do you want to back up your assertion that most Christians believe the story of Noah's Ark is a fable? No, I don't. There are various polls of dubious provenance about, most of which suggest that 60% of Americans believe it's true, most of whom are evangelicals, while only 44% of Catholics do...

What is Your definition of 'mock/ing'? Derogatory comments , then. Yes, you Do make fun of what YOU consider to be stupid ideas. And, No, that is Not "completely unfair and unreasonable." You refer to it as intellectual honesty or dishonesty. I call 'it' rationalizing Your reaction to acb...

Hugh, Do you want to back up your assertion that most Christians believe the story of Noah's Ark is a fable? Wishful thinking prrhaps. Most Christians may well be more the trailer park sort, low education, low income, and deeply superstitious. LOL  and I guess you think you are smarter than th...

Re: "What time is"
But any person can easily enough find articles discussing the nature of time in a way that shows that it is a bit much for anyone to declare that they know all about it. That is my point; did you have one? I doubt very much anyone has said that we know all about what time is. But we do know a great...

Re: Transitional / intermediate
I've been accused plenty of times -- right Here in fact -- of believing in a book that is full of errors but Does have Some merit for moral / ethical issues. But, I've never had any reason To doubt the reliability Of God's Word. And I've shared with someone about Jesus Christ being the Perfect Lamb...

Re: RTB: Serious Problems with Evolution
Rubbish, the evidence for evolution is not "vast", in fact the evidence that is available is quite small I suppose it depends on your definition of 'vast', and how you go about counting it. In my opinion the evidence is indeed 'vast'. It extends to research into every corner of the living...

Ah, the headaches of understanding where science ends and philosophy starts... Or getting a philosopher to say they dont have a clue. Here are some thoughts for those sure of what time is as opposed to knowing some characteristics. https://www.wired.com/2010/02/what-is-time/ I am sure he can prove ...

Re: Transitional / intermediate
Well -- believing In God in the first place would help. Then a person would be more likely to appreciate God's Word BEING God's Word as authoritative. see "confirmation bias. Conclusion before evidence is what you are recommending. You might not like it so well if you are the accused, dont you...
