You're thinking of Mid-westerners. I'm from Maine where we say "roof".

We say stuff like, "Ahm goin' to the kah to go down thawt rudd. Uhmean, thawt's whatta a kah is foe-wah!"

I've got a theory that everyone's Canadian.

Yes, welcome! I just joined as well, and your story is a lot like mine, except about church. I don't think that being embarassed of going to church is ignorant. Church leaders should stop making it such a dry, boring, stiff experiance that's not very enjoyable. I've never gone to church w/out feelin...

Damn skippy, my friend. You spell neighbor differently so you're probably English or something. Us Americans spell words the way they're pronounced. I'll make it short and brief: my country is crumbling, and it doesn't have more than 20 years to go. So if you guys ever become the rich and pow...

Oh, you should!

I think that the scientific plausibility of the shroud being authentic is overwelming! The idea of a man from the late middle ages faking the shoud so well seems ridiculous when you look at the horribly innaccurate paintings of the crucifixion made in that time period.

Wow, Kurieuo! Just wanted to say thanks for giving me that link! :D

I couldn't stop reading it. I learned a lot, and I encourage others to read it as well (have you read it, Felgar?). I found it very spiritually refreshing. Truely the Judeo-Christian God is a God of mercy!

The mind of Moses - Midianite cruelty?

Hello all! I made a post asking about something Moses did in what's known as a "hard passage". The mods wanted to to reference it, so here it is--from the Revised Standard Version: Numbers 17 Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by ly...

me and my stupid life!

Oh!--who's gonna read this? Okay, fine: I'm a college student and former athiest. I did a strange thing couple years back. I prayed, telling God that I wanted to believe in him but that there were so many silly things in the Bible which made it hard. I felt stupid for saying that 'cause I never read...

News of the Shroud?

I read an article that said the Shroud of Turin was being reexamined because the cloth used for the original carbon dating was severely burned. It said that the new results would go public at the end of September, and it's mid-December! I haven't been able to find any info on the Shroud that isn't f...
