Re: How good a proof of God's existence is this?
This argument would work just as effectively if you substituted the Koran or any other religious text that talks about a deity in its place. I wouldn't rely on it much. Bill: "God must exist." Jill: "How do you know." Bill: "Because the [Koran] says so." Jill: "Why...

Atheistic Hatred
WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE http://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngula/2012/02/23/need-another-reason-to-go-to-the-reason-rally/ The article is a response by atheists to Christians attending the "Reason Rally" (on public grounds, mind you, when you read threats of 'church crashing' in the post)...

Re: If God is all-knowing...
Why do parents have children knowing they will go through pain and suffering and eventually die? Also, your view of the history of the Bible is not very accurate. That is not answer it is a question. I agree with you there but it wasn't always like that. Also if you would ask people in some parts of the world they may not feel that way. There still are tribes in the world that don't have modern contact with the out side world. I feel he reachs them in a way that they can understand too. I didn'...

Re: Arrogant atheist
Reactionary and Stu- you should have done some research from BOTH points of view....TYPICAL. In that case, why don't you show us the other point of view? In short, 809 million people have died in religious wars. That’s nearly a billion people. Oftentimes, a retort is that secular ideals and Godless...

Re: Christ not the only way to God
Interesting, is the problem with the elephant analogy that Christians think they know the entirety ofthe elephant and that all others are blind? Well, lets examine this rationally ; if a religious Leader comes along and declares he is going to die the way that was predicted he would some 600 years ...

When there are contradictions, you think everyone can be 'just as correct'?buddhawarrior wrote:Which is an amazing way to know God, but it does not make the christian "bhagavan" any more correct than the bhagavan of another religion.

I don't think he was insinuating anything. However, you were the one to say 'good life'.Ivellious wrote:Depends on your definition of a "good person." But if you are insinuating that you can only be a good person by being Christian, I respectfully disagree wholeheartedly.

Re: Humans cause yeast to become multicellular, a threat to
That is cool. I still hold, though, to the idea that these receive far less scrutiny than they should because the researchers are merely looking for things that are confirming their already made conclusions. It's basic Confirmation Bias... and I wish people would more readily admit to it happening....
