Re: Are only men supposed to go into the military?

Nobody should be in the military. That's it. Jesus spoke of love, love for the enemies aswell. Shooting them, killing them, is not part of it. A true pacifist! If there were no military, we'd all be speaking German, or we'd be worshiping Allah. So I'd ask, pacifism at what cost? I agree

Re: Texas executes 'ice pick killer' for 1979 rape and murder

Fwiw, The death penalty had Christ killed. And that was a case of someone innocent being killed. Hey, that was God sacrificing himself. Don't suppose anyone here wants to have a go ? (sorry, couldn't resist) edit: But would you view it as a 'just' execution ? To be particular, someone giving up (sa...

To be fair, nearly every sect has some form of man-made influence to it. That is not to say that all are equally bad.

Re: Richard Dawkins says...

Subjective truth claims are still truth claims. They're really not. By definition, anything Subjective is based on an opinion, not on truth. If I make the claim that my subjective opinion is also the truth, how is that not a truth claim? Ken It is a truth claim. But it's self defeating. Being that ...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

It's really sad that You'd go to any lengths just to justify that one sabbath. Reminds me of what churches can do to people. Me justify one Sabbath? Let me remind you of God's words: By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3...

Plus it starts with, hear O Isreal...lol. If that didn't make it clear to whom the law was addressed. Are not all Christians "Israel"? Romans 11 Is not your Christ a Jew? . Not the Israel of the ot to whom the law was given. Even as Paul says that Abraham's descendants are not Israel, in ...

Lets not forget that it is not the day which is important since all of the law, Including the sabbath and ot was a shadow of the real thing to come - Christ.

Re: Abortion - Irish have done it. Consequences ?

Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. My dad is doing much better today. We were able to find good medical care. He will be home soon, I hope. The doctors are very hopeful. As for the topic at hand. I have nothing new to add except that I understand that it is a very fine line here. I am not ad...

Re: Abortion - Irish have done it. Consequences ?

Neo, I'd like to know on what basis you make a distinction between human and human being. And why you'd disagree that the nature of the person in the womb is identical to a the nature of a person at any point in his life. The person in the womb is human by nature. Why do you disagree? I will reply ...

Re: Abortion - Irish have done it. Consequences ?

I see that nuance Nicki. That is why I would also think that a baby vome to term or close to it is a different matter. Any late or very late abortion is obviously a problem. However you rick and stu are claiming something which is at best disputed. If I see evidence to the contrary i would have no p...
