Re: Do those who seek the truth really find God?

He promises so, but there is no definitive timeline on it ;) We must note, however, that many are shown the existence or truth of God, but they REJECT it for supposed "reasons". My most profound experiences with God have been the quietest and softest moments, whispers during everyday life,...

Re: I need a friend or someone close.

If you'd like a lady to talk to, I can lend an ear, and I'm not that much older (in my 20's)! If you have any questions about what to look for in a good Christian girl, or anything really, don't be shy :) I play games, too, though probably too much  Definitely aware when it leads my thoughts a...

Re: What do you think of this?

Like Paul_AK, I wasn't really a fan. He does not critically define "religion" and uses it improperly. What he is speaking of is really hypocrisy in the church, which Jesus definitely spoke out against. There is another great blog that addresses it: http://marysaggies.blogspot.com/2012/01/d...

Re: What is the purpose of marriage on earth?

Here's a wonderful video out by that same young man who did that controversial video about religion and Jesus:

I think it touches upon it perfectly. A good spouse can actually make us more holy and thus, closer to God.

Re: Christianity and secular music

I would absolutely agree about Eminem. Sure, the content is sometimes questionable, but his talent is unrivaled. One of my favorite songs of his came out fairly recently (2 years ago) and it chronicled the destructive nature of abusive relationships. The line that gets me every time is "now you...

Re: Is this the way I'm supposed to feel?

Welcome to the board! Your first post was truly beautiful and insightful for someone at 20 years of age. I'm only a few years ahead of you so I completely understand! Reactionary -- I sure hope you haven't forgotten what Christ said, that to enter into heaven, we should be like children? :P "Yo...

Re: Ron Paul

He's a little TOO libertarian for my liking, and doesn't hold too true to the Christian ideal of supporting those who need help (the elderly, jobless, etc) through a social welfare system -- though that could be my very, very cosmetic evaluation. Otherwise, I like him. He's got a steady record, is h...

Re: Free thinkers

Well, I never meant to claim that Christianity (or religion or atheism or whatever) and free thinking are mutually exclusive. I think many people make it that way, where they fail to question or they block out everything not pertaining to their religion or philosophy. Actually defining free thinkin...

It took me about 5 minutes to stop laughing long enough to post, and now I can't even remember what I was going to say. You guys -- so funny :P Oh wait, there's the thought. Got it. Wrain, you're SO right. What a simple statement yet it's brilliant. Of course God would allow our scientific methods t...

Re: Christianity and secular music

I would agree with Narnia. Some music is easy to discern as "bad", whether for it's messages, lyrical content or just the SOUND and I think it's getting easier and easier as fewer and fewer artists record songs with intellectual weight :P

Bill -- a late welcome and thank you for this wonderful information! The history alone is so fascinating to me, the religious implications are simply a bonus ;)

Re: Arrogant atheist

I find it hard to believe anyone still throws around the term "string theory" as if it has any merit. An unobservable, philosophically bankrupt idea that conveniently takes God out of the picture? Echo, please, that's science . 8) We ordinary mortals, Christians especially, don't get to u...

Oh, my deepest condolences and I'm so sorry this is late. I understand and empathize with your loss and I will pray the Lord gives you strength and peace. Your mother is resting peacefully now and is, no doubt, proud and happy to have been your mother and I definitely think the world of this woman w...

Hi Dan!!! :D Good to be back. I can't tell you how often I thought of each of you this past month. I really, really missed reading comments and discussing all the things we discuss here (which really is a lot! :P). Ahhhh, it's nice to be back amongst like-minds. That's it -- no matter how busy I get...

Re: For me...

Hi Dan :)

I'll keep you in my prayers, too. It's hard, isnt it? Must be why Christ suggested the "opposing yolk" rule...saves us from heartache. How parent-like, isn't it? Here's a suggestion on how to live so you won't hurt needlessly. Such is love and such is Christ.
