Re: I have a quick question about ancient humans
Perhaps hindu is the earliest recorded religion. The bible never specifies when man learned to record history. It could have been some time after the fall.

I'm back!
I'm not sure if anyone remembers me or not, though I have to say it is nice to see the same people posting here. Anyway, I've been away a while ("up and down that lonely road of faith") and I missed this place. I've grown and changed a lot in the years. A few quick updates for those who kn...

Re: Stay at home mama drama
Wow, a lot of varying opinions. First of all, let me add this: We are not having any marital troubles. We practically never argue. I love my wife and i am very, very grateful i have a wife who wants to stay home. I love it. My only complaint is that i don't get any breaks from the home. I'm not sayi...

Re: Stay at home mama drama
Thanks byblos, but not the 'moral' i was looking for. :crying: I don't think i explained the problem properly. We don't argue about who does what, etc. I have stayed home plenty of times (my wife worked for a few weeks after Alayna (baby) was born and i did stay home a lot of that). I completely und...

Stay at home mama drama
Long time no see to anyone who remembers me. My baby is now almost six months old and i am blessed with a job that allows my wife to stay home and not work. I am very, very happy with this arrangement, but i need third-party advice to settle a dispute we have. When we decided she would stay home, we...

Re: Modest Dress and Headcoverings: Male Response?
Just to put in my two (male) cents on the makeup issue. I could care less if a woman wears makeup (I try to talk my wife out of it because a, she's pretty anyway, and b, it's expensive). But, you could also compare it to cutting your hair or wearing nice clothes. Why? Vanity? No, i think it's confid...

Re: Contemperaneous Sources
Just to touch on a similar issue, God's desire is not to simply be known by people, it is to have a personal, loving relationship with them. (After all, the devil 'knows' God). Who's to say that if he were more 'known', more would have a personal, loving relationship with him? A personal example: I ...

Swearing (again)
Does it really matter if we swear? I know we've had this hashed out before, but I'm trying to figure something out for myself. So, I'm going to babble on for a few minutes and then we will revisit the question. My boss is a strong Baptist (by strong, I mean he is a powerful Christian [I only mention...

Army Buddy
My best friend of...well, of a long time... is back from Iraq. He will be stationed in Texas for the next few days before he can take leave. He will be down to visit then. Anyway, i want you to pray for him. He is struggling a lot with his girlfriend (not fond of her myself) and i think he would be ...

Ever had a Bad Day?
If you ever had a bad day, hate your job, whatever, just follow these easy steps. On your way home from work, stop and buy a Johnson & Johnson baby rectal thermometer. Be absolutely sure you buy the right brand. Take the thermometer home. Open the package and put it on the table. Shut the window...
