Re: What would God say if he came here and why.
You guys are brutal. Again, you are incorrectly twisting things around. Christopher Hitchens is talking about positive assertions, not negative assertions. This is a basic concept of formal logic. Following formal logic, you can dismiss the original claim of numbers being concrete, because there is...

Re: What would God say if he came here and why.
Numbers are not concrete, your example is terrible. I want to see an example of when 1 is not 1 or 2 is not 2, when it it not concrete. You need to provide proof for your assertions. “That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.”~ The late Christopher Hitchens You...

Re: A Public Apology
It is certainly an interesting claim. Assuming it is an honest statement, I apologize for laughing. It is extremely confusing though. Why do you think atheism requires faith? Perhaps more importantly, what do you think faith is?

Re: What would God say if he came here and why.
I am sorry you didn't understand my point but there is no excuse to be rude or condescending even more so with a moderator. I suggest you be more open to other views and opinions and to work on your debating / discussion skills. I'm sorry you found that post rude or condescending. I find your previ...

Re: What would God say if he came here and why.
If you can't prove infinity then it not existing is NOT breaking the Law of identity. Logical Laws are applied to concrete things ( 1 is 1 because it is 1 and not 2 o any other number). Infinity is not concrete, it is assumed. Besides that, the first cause is not based on infinity not existing. You...

Re: What would God say if he came here and why.
First Cause: This argument is based on the assumption that infinity does not exist. Morality Argument: This argument is based on the assumption that the pinnacle of morality was revealed to us 2000ish years ago. So you don't agree with the arguments because you don't agree with them? Where is the b...

Re: What would God say if he came here and why.
What, in your view, doesn't hold up logically in regards to those two arguments? Since the "laws" are: Logic is the process of proper inference. It is the system of thinking properly, of arriving at proper conclusions. It is the process of proper thinking based upon principles that govern...

Re: Fundamentals of Science
theorists had faith in the physical laws, they would not doubt them, and they would never be improved upon. This would directly hinder progress. Scientific progress is made because of curiosity, and because of doubt. I would like to encourage you to read the work of Stephen Hawking. He is a theoris...

Re: What would God say if he came here and why.
Aside from the fact that "logic laws" are subjective, I am surprised that you have never came across arguments like the "first cause"/"first mover" or the arguments based from the "moral Law", and so forth. You can go to WLC website, reasonablefaith.org or th...

Re: Fundamentals of Science
Whoa, whoa, whoa, not cool! :( You are right, with two notable exceptions. I'm sorry to pick on you Dan. :) 1) There is no valid justification for infinite faith (to say you can't have too much faith in X) God exists, so yea there is justification. :( 2) There is no divine. You entitled to your opin...

This is a clear case of selective favoritism. What you're saying is I'm right to say ultimate faith is...

Re: Fundamentals of Science
Too little faith has bad results, too much faith has bad results. Here I fixed your quote: Too little faith in the right things has bad results, too much faith in the wrong things has bad results. Dan Hey Dan, thanks for making the change. I respect you trying to find a middle ground. With that sai...

Re: Fundamentals of Science
I an not sure if you truly don't understand my point or if you are just being argumentative. I doubt I understand your point. I think you're painting my opinions in black and white, and judging them as such, when they are actually varying shades of grey. We were on the same page until this: ...any ...
