Re: Bore our sins in his body

K: you're redefining "sin" as "consequence of sin"?
No. I think FlieG's comment was meant to be sarcastic.

Re: Preterism Destroyed

Just because many things that were prophesied related to the First Century, does not mean that they won't be parallel events or anti-Christs impacting the world in our own time or future. Obviously, Israel becoming a nation again, its re-capturing of ancient borders - these are clearly related to pr...

Re: New Poster Asking Why God Created Hell

People act as if they believe in a caricature of hell's separation from God, that it would be like hanging out and drinking beer with their buddies who all think like they do without the religious hangups. But Christianity is different than ANY religion - and, in fact, is not a religion whatsoever!

Re: New Poster Asking Why God Created Hell

Kenny: So I guess the question would be; why did God create the lake of fire? Why not just let those who don't want to be with God just be separated from him? The Biblical answer is, because God isn't only a loving God that forgives - He's also a just God whom also punishes and holds people account...

Life on Mars: What IF?

https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSurgHXrjsJkd28XF_nn09Hv0QFGBUESueH8Q&usqp=CAU Remember this rock formation on Mars? OK, so it's only an unusually shaped rock and pareidolia. But now that we've just landed a robotic search for signs of life - or at least, for ancient, life - I'...

From the same paragraph:
Challenger: As for me, science is limited by technical possibilities...
Challenger: Science is limitless.
I'm confused - so, which is it? :P

Re: Please Introduce Yourself Here

Ness: Lol why do I feel you are about ready to frisk them? Ah, perhaps I could have worded that differently. But people typically have some related interests to the themes and subject matter of godandscience, so it's helpful to gain a bit of perspective on their beliefs - which is what I was ...

Re: The Ravi Zacharias Scandal

Yes, there is nothing necessarily magical about being in Christian community - AS LONG AS - someone or several in that community will call you out and stand up to the wrong or hurtful actions a Christian might be doing - AND there is a defined process in place for Scripturally dealing with it. But m...

Re: The Ravi Zacharias Scandal

Nessa: I think Ravi wilfully chose to be obstinate. Maybe if he lived til 100, nothing would have changed. If God knew he would repent, maybe he would have lived. You know, I thought about that as well. Who knows. But I don't know if he could have handled his peers and family finding out about this...

Re: The Ravi Zacharias Scandal

Yep - it's just that some sins have so much more of a horrific impact than others do. It took a lot of courage for those women to come forward. I bet if Ravi could talk to us, he would say he should have had far-greater accountability in his life. And I agree, while terrible, Ravi, his ministry and ...

Re: What is Monotheism per the Bible?

DB: MAN, are those some long threads - but full of really good discussions - really, the kind of serious and more important discussions I hope to see the forum return to. Paul had some great input as well - I really miss him around here! Does anyone know why he suddenly left? May have been all those...

Re: The Ravi Zacharias Scandal

Some people are exceptionally clever at hiding away their evil activities - and Ravi was clearly a master at it. And like Nessa alluded to - probably so good at it that he had deceived even himself. And yeah, it's frightening, as we all know our own sin nature can suck us right into the vortex as we...
