Re: Batteling Christianity
That emptying of ourselves that Cross-eyed experienced is a very humiliating experience, but so freeing! It is actually something that we as Christians have to go through, not only when we come to him empty as a helpless sinner, but many times in our spiritual walk with Him. We are all very selfish ...

Re: hearing voices
I'm sure satan was pretty ticked off on the day your friend got saved. Demonic activity is certainly possible, but getting a physical check-up as well as a phychological evaluation would be a really good idea.

Re: What does god prove?
there cannot be free will if one created the concept of free will. my point is if he knows the answers to all that he wills, what does he prove and why does he need to prove these things? I don't see why your first statement quoted here is true. To me that doesn't make sense. Just because something...

Re: Batteling Christianity
Hi FFC, yes, I understand what you mean. I think I need to 'step out in faith' so to speak and trust that God has heard my prayer and will save me. I am stuck in a sinful situation at the minute (I live with my partner and I love him to bits and want to marry but he doesn't want to marry in the nea...

Re: Batteling Christianity
Hi BW, I have prayed that prayer and will do so again tomorrow and the next day. I will try to find a Bible Study Group. I know it is important to meet with others and I am wary of the wolves but I trust God will direct me to the right place. Thank you for your help. I will let you know how I am ge...

Re: I want love from a man
Maybe David couldn't form a close (emotional) relationship with a woman because they were just too much like dessert to him - he wanted a different one just for the night all of the time. Everything that I've read at least tries to argue that theirs was not a homosexual relationship. I mean, you pr...

Re: I want love from a man
David certainly had a close and intimate relationship with Jonathon, the son of King saul.
David laments his death saying, "I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; greatly beloved were you to me; your love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women." (2 Sam. 1:26).

Re: Talking to a Jehovah's Witness
HI FFC, you've just done me a favour. I've run out of books to read at the minute and I just noticed your signature. I've got the 'The Hiding Place'. I read it years ago and I 'forgot' I still had it. I shall be reading it again. Thanks :esmile: You're quite welcome. I'm glad I could help. Not to g...

Re: Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible
I was raised as a catholic and taught the bible is 'god-breathed' and infallible. I am curious, do you believe everything in the bible? Is it all true? I used to think that until I started reading it as a historical document rather than a religious tome and I feel quite differently now. It was obvi...

Re: The Authencity of the Bible.
Canuckster, Many people have died for things they believe in, but it doesn't make the cause right or the deity real. Just becasue the apostles didn't recant doesn't mean anything except they believed deeply in a god. Not just any god, a God who came back from the dead just as he had claimed; an eve...

Re: JW and Baptism
When I was 5 my parents began studying with Jehovah's Wittnesses, and at 16 I had a stong faith in God and wanted to dedicate my life to service and was baptised in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit. Do you think a person would have to be rebaptised for any reason? I left the orga...
