Re: Gen 1 Defies Physics Laws

I think all of the stuff compiling Christianity and science is great, but sometimes you just have to have "faith like a child." You raise some interesting points, but I think we should have a good knowledge of science in relation to the Bible because then we know what to say when posed wi...

Re: Gen 1 Defies Physics Laws

http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/day-age.html Did you read the day age interpretation page on the site? According to it, the sun was not created on the fourth "day", but rather the sun was not visible from the earth until the fourth day (when the translucent cloud was removed). We...

Re: Gen 1 Defies Physics Laws

The word "yom" often is meant to mean a 24-hour day, but it also often isn't. In the case of Noah it was referring to 24 hour periods, in the creation account it wasn't. I fail to see the problem... Let's face it, that whole line of 'defense' was cooked up, to try to agree with science lon...

Re: Infinite Universe

Heres a page showing several possible "outcomes" of the universes fate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_fate_of_the_universe The one that seems most likely is the "Big Rip". Because of this, an eternally expanding universe is actually not infinite but destroys itself eventu...

Einstein's statement about his belief in God "I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with fates and actions of human beings." However, Einstein's reason for not believing in the Christian God was based on a si...

Prodigal Son

I was looking through the past threads of this forum and I found something that really bothers me. There is a user called Prodigal Son who hasn't posted in a very long time. Most of his posts showed he is a devout believer, but then the last thread he started was rather disturbing to say the least. ...

Nobody ever said that Einstein was a christian. The page is called "Famous scientists who believed in God" not "Famous scientists who were Chrsitians." A good deal of them just happen to be Christians. The page's purpose is mainly to show that it is extremely uneducated to say th...

Plus, the quotes you used for Descartes don't even suggest that he didn't believe in God. You basically put words in his mouth when you "explained" the quotes. You even claim that Descartes didn't believe in the Christian God because he didn't believe that God has a physical body (the fact...

Einstein didn't believe in a personal God. The G&S page even points this out by saying that Einstein was a deist. However other quotes from Einstein show that he did believe in God, even if he isn't personal.

The universe is not infinite even if it keeps expanding without being pulled back together. From what i know, cosmologists say that the universe will continue to expand, but will end either from heat death or even the "Big Rip".

Also, I guess I was a bit quick in claiming that God has mostly male qualites. I just sort of assumed that because of how the Bible seems to always refer to Him in the masculine form.
