I asked the following question in a different post but never got a reply: Who would you consider an authority on scripture in cases of disputes? When 2 Protestants interpret the Bible differently, who determines who is right? I pose these questions in an effort to learn as I do not know the answer....

I have noticed many Christians, though by no means all or even most, have a hang up about Catholicism. First of, Catholics are also Christians, and I know many people will disagree with me. Second, I believe that many people have a 'hang up' about Catholics because they misunderstand Catholic teach...

Now that is a very debatable statement. Are you saying that mutations HAVE been shown to be random? Or is that the assumption of the popular belief? The theory of evolution has in many ways shown that thinks do evolve but so far as I know there is not a single shred of evidence that it was random. ...

You're clearly not a scientist. I am only saying that ID is not a science. Yet you insist on defending ID. You know this reminds of the story of the two doctors (I think they are Australian) who discovered (some time in the mid 80's) that ulcers are caused by bacteria and not stress. They were the ...

Woof! Thank you JBuza.

Yesterday I was contemplating answering back but I was just too tired and went home. This morning I came in nice and ready for a rebuttal and to my surprise you had beaten me to it.

Ditto everything JBuza said. Excellent post.

That is not a stereotype but rather a religious practice. There's absolutely nothing preventing us from confessing our sins directly to God and I often do. As to why we do it, well let me answer with a question: why not? I'm referring to the moments in the booth, typically precluded by "Forgiv...

No, ID contradicts science. And not in the way you are implying, it is not that intelligent design is wrong. Intelligent design assumes a designer first and then looks for evidence to support this assumption. Its a hypothesis not based on observations but based on beliefs. And how has the evolution...

I do because ID is trying to conform existing beliefs with those discovered through scientific processes. The discoveries made through these processes are an outcome of unbiased observation. BGood, be good (just kidding). Are you saying that science has already contradicted ID? At least that's what...

What I'm learning more and more is this: That Catholicism IS Christianity; Absolutely. We certainly do regard ourselves as Christians. but only Catholicism in its pure form. The Catholics who are truly grounded in Christ do understand and believe in the same salvation by Grace through Faith. Not su...

Re: Debunking Intelligent Design

OF course their is the whole feel good can't we all be right creation/evolution mix. You say it as if it were a compromise, yet it is the simplest, most plausible answer we have. When employing scientific rules, it is said that one should always look for the simplest and most obvious answers as in ...
