Re: Gaming addiction

Actually, females are rather significant contributers to the gaming industry these days. Unfortunately, they tend to get a some flak with some rather ridiculous "gamer girl" stereotypes, where it's assumed that they're only playing games to get attention. (However, there are very few that ...

Re: PSA: Avatar Par Excellence

Meow.
I don't ever want to see Rick's modelling picture ever again. It's nightmare-inducing! @_@

And yeah, when Rick had a kitty avatar, it was one of the best. ^^

What ever happened to Reactionary? That lion avatar was rather cool. X3

Re: Oregon School Shooting

If Britain successfully bans knives, then how're you going to cut the meat after the barbecue? Also, how's the butcher gonna chop up some cow or lamb or chicken or pig or turkey? http://www.britishblades.com/forums/content.php?12-The-Law-FAQ might be worth a look if you're interested in the law in ...

Re: Oregon School Shooting

Interesting post - and you are obviously passionate about it - but to me still that does not justify a rule that allows a person to carry a gun on his person. Nothing will convince me otherwise - and this simply is not the way Jesus taught. And here in Britain we are trying to remove knives off the...

Re: Prayers please

Much of Rick's sexist humor tends to be rather cringe-worthy. Should we pray instead that he stops making jokes? Or should we pray that he develops an actual sense of humor?

Because his jokes are just terrible!

Re: Hurtful Comment from an atheist classmate

Me: What do you think about Christians? Him:I like Christians...... if they're cooked right. The following comment has hurt me deeply on an emotional level. Not only has it made me afraid to talk to atheists, but I offends me on a personal level too. I hate the use of the word "cooked" be...

Actually, according to this page, the human eye can distinguish between anywhere from 200 to 256 shades of grey. However, this page goes into a bit more detail on the matter.

(This thread has officially been derailed. My apologies.)

Re: The Earth is 6000 years old?

The El Camino is junk. DIE HERETIC! DIE! FL :guns: The recoil of those guns is probably going to knock you onto your butt before you could even hit anything. Going all guns akimbo is really impractical. Even if you were to go with pistols (though the recoil is less of an issue so much as having to ...

Whelp, there's one disadvantage to my height. That, and I can't fit through short corridors very well. I can reach things that other people need something to stand on to reach, though.

And no, I'm not into basketball.

Re: Uncaused first cause

Flawed intellect In other words, you're assuming that God doesn't exist, therefore the cause of the universe can't be God. That's circular reasoning. Ken My reasons for believing God does not exist is because I see more evidence for his non-existence than I see for his existence. Therefore, if you ...

Flawedintellect Also, science is limited in terms of what it can do. By definition, science is not capable of addressing the metaphysical. However, philosophy as a whole is able to deal with the matter of the metaphysical. (Science is itself a more narrowly-focused form of philosophy, which is conc...

Re: Uncaused first cause

Ken, you're being very dense here. Your mistake is that you're assuming that claiming the existence of an intelligent creator responsible for the existence of the universe somehow automatically equals religion. However, this is false. There is a worldview known as "deism" which acknowledge...
