Re: The true religion
which is the true religion. There is none. There is only Christ and his Spirit that lives within the hearts of all those who faith in Him. All "religions", sects, cults, etc. attempt to create a code of behavior ("do do this"..."Don't do that") that will lead a person ...

Re: The Trinity, tradition or scripture?
I believe the Holy Spirit is described as a person in the Scripture with attributes of God and Attributes of an independent entity. I tend to be less specific, defining the Holy Spirit as "being" rather that a person. I find it interesting that while we humans often depict God in anthropo...

Canuckster seems to have a good handle on this but I'll chime in....
2 Corinthians 3:17 suggest the Holy Spirit is omnipresent.

Actually I just started watching a new one called "The Gospel of John". So far I think it is pretty good.
I haven't seen that one.
I did see rather a good one on Jeramiah last Easter, though.

Re: Next Pope: the Devil
I think it's rather irrelevant whether or not Peter was first Pope or not.
The deeper question should be did Peter have any 'special authority' over the other Apostles?
Personally, I find John's writtings to be most edifying.

Re: Is ID non-scientific because it has relgious implications?
My friend animal believes that ID is creationism because creationism is "religious in origins" and therefore ID has relgious implications and is therefore non-scientific, animal claims that ID "IS" creationism in disguise. Animal believes I have evaded his concerns of ID being i...

Re: The thousand year reign
Well, THIS might bring some more polemecists out of the woodwork, but...... :esad: I feel Post-Millenialism is a danger to the Church. The belief that Believers have to do 'good works' to build a Millenial Kingdom BEFORE Jesus will return is anathema to the concept of "Salvation by Grace"....

Have you ever heard of something called "poetic license"
Not that there is any DIRECT Scriptural evidence that it took the wise men two years to find the Christ child.
But feel free to continue your polemic rant

Actually, that is not true. The Scythians actually settled in a MUCH wider area, all the way from the Balkans in Europe, to modern Turkey, to the Urals.

Re: Next Pope: the Devil
I might not have the spelling right, but no...nothing to do with the last book of the Old Testament. This was a prophecy made by a Catholic priest in the Middle ages who was later sainted concerning the sucession of Popes. All the recent Popes have had some trait to connect them with this prophecy. ...
