Re: sabbath keeping
The OT Law (including the Sabbath commandment) is the thing that differentiated Jew from Gentile, and is described in Eph. 2:14-15 as "the dividing wall" between the two groups, the "enmity which is the law of commandments contained in ordinances" which has now been "abolis...

Re: sabbath keeping
. . Edward, you highlight "ministry of death", but neglect to highlight it's glory as it plainly states both have. The latter has more glory because Christ has opened the door to salvation that without Him was closed. Prior to His death, salvation was based on the promise, after it was bas...

Re: Swearing (again)
As a Christian, I believe using God's name in vain is simply wrong and something I don't want to do and so I don't. It goes against my desire to worship God and violates Scriptual standards. Standards...you mean the 10? But we're not under Law...it can't be "wrong". However I woul...

Re: The Trinity, tradition or scripture?
Yes, I agree that Jesus is God. He is God the SON. Just as there is God the FATHER. Well that's 2/3 of the trinity. Just add the Holy Spirit which is also God and you are set. Someone school me on the original (greek?) text on, Matthew 28:19. . . Here's a reasonably good commentary I found on the w...

Re: God + love + hell = ?
Ok...where are these individuals in the afterlife? I gave you Biblical examples of individuals in the afterlife: Samuel, Moses, the rich man in Hell, and the Martyrs. Go back to my first posts on this subject and see. FL Two of your "proofs" are parables...and by definition...I think you ...

...but they have nothing to do with my point here which - I repeat - is individual consciousness in the afterlife, and nothing else. FL Ok...where are these individuals in the afterlife? You seem to assume because a prophecy comes true...it is of God. Cannot Satan make his own predictions and/or in...

Re: Once Saved always saved?
Hi, I'm new here and this is my first posting. I'm not sure if this idea is one shared by GodandScience, but I noticed a member stating this about himself. I have always belived that you can lose your salvation if you do not remain in the truth. Look at Heb.10:26,27 and Heb. 6:4-6. Matt.24:13 also ...

Re: sabbath keeping
. . I don't have the best approach most of the time...but I try. I appreciate your candor. I believe in the keeping of a Sabbath and I do so in my own personal practise, on Sundays. I don't do it out of a sense of legal obligation. I do it because I believe God created me in such a manner than physi...

Re: The Trinity, tradition or scripture?
Speaking of baptism only here. Great, I agree. Why baptize into three names...one being ficticious? Is God playing with our heads here or something? . . No, of course not. And the Holy Spirit isn't ficticious. This answer was given in another post. The Holy spirit is given when we are baptized, tha...

Re: going to hell?
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". Romans 6:23 I was looking for B.W. and/or others to give me the answer to this...but jenna's will do. IF the price of sin is eternal fire/torment/death...did Jesus really pay the price of sin fo...
