Re: Predestination permanent?

Well, this may answer most of your objections, while opening another can of wormies! I believe we are given reason to hope that God will choose everyone, that all may repent. "For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all." (Rom 11:32) Blessings, Lee ???!!!

Re: Predestination permanent?

As well, IF Reformed Theology and Five Point Calvinism's assertions about God and His Character were true, then the following things* about Him would also be true - although many Scriptures directly refute such perverted assessments of God's will for men : * That as opposed to the testimony of John...

Re: Predestination permanent?

Lee, if you haven't read Norman Geisler's "Chosen But Free," I would highly reccomend it!

Re: The Kingdom of God and the death of Jesus

Yes, DB, I believe a key lesson from "Chosen But Free" is how easily one can drift into Scriptural error when we attempt to apply the logic of mere mortals to the thinking, ways and abilities of God. What might seem impossible or contradictory to us doesn't necessarily apply to God, or how he does o...

Re: The Kingdom of God and the death of Jesus

DB, I find it difficult to take much White says seriously, as he is a militant Calvinist who so effortlessly bends Scripture to fit its man-made logic and assertions. You should see the massive list of errors Geisler listed in his response to White's "The Potter's Freedom" book (which was White's re...

Re: The Kingdom of God and the death of Jesus

I listened to NT's video twice. I'm with him on what the Kingdom of God is - that is it is far beyond just salvation and groovy if eternal times in Heaven, and what eternity includes. But I think he's done a somewhat poor job of distinguishing his viewpoint as being potentially perceived as denying ...

Re: Sanctification - Not a Walk in the Park

Even the devil is completely under the leash and control of God - who uses him as a tool. The misery he causes does compel people to seek God. And he stands in stark contrast to the light of the Lord and the good things He wants for us. The devil also represents and presents a choice, that people be...

Re: Top Ten Reasons I'm An Atheist

I took Morny's use of "religion" to mean a spiritual search for any possible gods, God, or definitive truths or directives. Personally, I DESPISE religion - which I define as man's attempts to replace the directives of and faith in the one, true God with their own myriad of made-up, self-serving fal...

Rich, I'm just grateful that you have created and make this site possible! I'm always the first to say that it probably contains more quality resources for witnessing and apologetics than any other evangelical site on the web!

Philip: But you certainly know that the attributes of non-intelligent things completely shut off that possibility! Ken: No I don't know this and if you do, tell me how? How do you know more than all those scientists out there? Ken, now you're merely playing games - because I didn't say scientists a...

Re: Top Ten Reasons I'm An Atheist

Morny: But for me the conclusion is inescapable - apologetics is uninteresting. Hmm, so there is a debate going on to sway your opinion, that aims to encourage your toward faith in Christ. And you've not made up your mind. But your description of the debate as being boring tells me that you don't t...

Nils: When it looks like an adult (as you seem to suggest)... No, Nils, I affirm human life begins at the moment it becomes ALIVE. And ONLY "if" God gives and is the only one with the right to assert life in the womb is human and that NO human life (in or outside the womb) it is to be deliberately ...
