Re: Physicists find new particle
Now, IF we have a particle that seems to have always existed ( since it doesn't need anything to make it exist - self-existing) then, IF this particle can cause energy and "life" to "happen", then there is no reason to think that it would NOT have eventually caused the "big...

Whenever I (attempt to) read such an article, I lose self-confidence regarding my intelligence...
So, what if they "discover" this particle? What will that mean to an average person who doesn't deal with physics?

So after 15 months here, apparently I've become a " Senior member ". It's an honour. I wish to thank all of you at G&S for being kind and helpful, as much as one can be through a computer screen. It's been a pleasure to participate here, learn many new things as well as helping those w...

Sermon on the Mount
How do you interpret it? After so much time, I still struggle with understanding its proper context and meaning. While I find some lessons and morals very meaningful and profound, some simply confuse me. I personally think those are greatly exaggerated with the use of hyperboles - it's not that Jesu...

Re: Masturbation Inquiry
Excellent resource, Philip. This quote from an article sums up exactly what I've been saying: On the contrary, those who "deny" themselves masturbation seem to be more prone to sexual sin with a boy or girlfriend. Some who have "tried it both ways" have said that masturbation mak...

Re: Masturbation Inquiry
First of all, "masturbating," means you are taking the "mastering" into your own hands (pardon the pun) when Christ is supposed to be the "Master" of your body. Go look up the word "fornication" in the Bible buddy, and it reads "Porneo," the same wo...

Re: Experience with Atheist forums
I've stopped by atheist websites, but I tend not to stick around because of the sheer amount of anger that just drips off the page. I'm not saying that all atheists are riled up, but many of the atheists I see online seem like they have a chip on their shoulder about Christianity and all Christians...

Re: Atheists are hard to convert
As I said numerous times, most of their arguments are simply illogical insults that they spew towards people instead of a serious discussion . It's a good thing that you noticed that at the age of 15 (if I remembered your age correctly). Once you see through the smokescreen of insults and mockery, ...

Re: Imaginary GOD? I think not
Simple advice for you, Tina. Don't read that intellectually dishonest nonsense. It's an insult to intelligence. ;) EDIT: A quote from the very site which refutes all 50 points in one go: These molecules react together in different ways to create what we call life. Although all of these molecules are...

EDIT: Shame - looks like you have to pay to sign in!I think I might even join their forum and write a little essay refuting their nonsense.
The site is full of ads begging people to donate. Now this is worse than I thought... No dignity whatsoever.

Re: 10 Questions for Christians (ExChristian.Net)
I'd like to post a few comments over there, but 1) I don't have the time to waste, and 2) it's not that simple. Actually, don't waste your time either way. Most pro-Christian comments I've seen there are met with a barrage of "Well, you're Christian, so shut up," or atheists pretending th...
