Re: When is proper to tell someone they believe in a lie?
I don’t have any friends or family members who are into pseudo Christianity religions. I only encounter these people when they intercept me in public or when they come to my door. I tell them straight away that they are mistaken, that their religion isn’t Christianity and - depending how that goes -...

Re: Hugh Ross asserts scientific dates for Biblical Creation references
Flie, here, he's not postulating a date for the earth's creation (which he has consistently put at about 4.5 billion years ago) - what he's referencing is the beginning of LIFE on the earth. Notice, the Scripture references God brooding over the waters of the earth, which already exists. And Hugh a...

Re: Hugh Ross asserts scientific dates for Biblical Creation references
Hugh Ross is promoting Day-Age in the YouTube video linked to above. The problem I saw in the video is that Dr. Ross seemed to have put the first day of creation at 3,825 billion years ago. That date doesn’t line up with current theory which estimates the age of the universe at 13,8 billion years. S...

Re: What happens the moment after you die?
Yes, Flie - I guess I was thinking of someone who knows at least some of the fundamentals of what is in the Bible but rejects much of it. I've seen people on this site do this - they pick and choose which parts of the Bible to believe. Of course, cultural adherents can come from a variety of backgr...

Re: HERESY ALERT: Church of England considering gender-neutral terms for God
Flie, you’re right, Charles may well astutely oppose it. But IF such is ever embraced, Anglicans that hold Scripture as being God-given will leave. And depending upon where the would end up, their reactions might well be a big positive for the health of God’s worldwide Church. Well, I don’t think t...

Re: HERESY ALERT: Church of England considering gender-neutral terms for God
You have to understand that King Charles is the Supreme Governor of the Anglican Church. Ultimately, the King will have a say in this, not his Majesty’s silly underlings who wear the funny robes. My guess is King Charles’ advisors will caution against gender-neutral terms for God. The commentators o...

Re: Dr. Hugh Ross and fellow scientist Leslie Wickman discuss climate change
Very interesting videos. I’m glad Steve Brown is still around but I was a little surprised to hear him refer to Ravi Zacharias in glowing terms. That being said, Zacharias was an excellent apologist but it’s unfortunate his sins have cast a shadow on his life and work.

...IF their heart is open, God can use key things you might make them aware of - things they may not know or haven't considered. “ IF their heart is open ” you say. It never is in my experience. Never... Never, ever. The problem with pointing out the errors in Watchtower teachings is that the first...

Re: Why do Jehovah witnesses trust the Watchtower, since...
The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society is very adept at pseudo-Christianity. Watchtower members use Christian terms, their theology is Christian-like and their followers are mostly well-groomed, polite and law-abiding citizens. They seem to be zealous for God to most people - seculars and Christia...

Re: God used two powerful dreams to draw and reach this agnostic scientist!
Hmmmm...methodical searching through the Bible for clues to God’s existence rarely works to draw atheists to faith. Lee Stroebel is an exception. Hard- or “gnostic atheists” pour over the Bible looking for errors, inconsistencies and contradictions and they manage to find many apparent problems. An ...

Re: God used two powerful dreams to draw and reach this agnostic scientist!
... how did you come to faith? What was the spark? What was the path of understanding? I didn’t “come to the faith” as if it were a quest I entered upon. I didn’t diligently study the Bible or think of God and come to the conclusion that He must exist. None of that baloney . I remember going to bed...
