Re: Is God inconsistent...or are Christians?

Montana, that's a ridiculous diatribe. I myself spent a lot of time trying to answer you (even though I should've been doing something else job-search related), out of love for Christ and trying to help others, and as far as I can tell, you simply didn't like the answers. From what I also surmise, y...

Re: Is God inconsistent...or are Christians?

If it is not a case of inconsistency, then you attribute different characteristics to these 2 different punishments. What are they? Someone shooting someone is not a "punishment" - it's simply an action. A person shooting another for some reason is just an individual action, normally. So ...

Re: Is God inconsistent...or are Christians?

I realize you argued against punishments having moral values...but you did admit that shooting a child for stealing a lollipop is wrong (immoral). So that seems inconsistent...either punishments have moral values or they do not. Why would you think that an individual shooting someone is a "pun...

J.Davis wrote:@ cslewislover, Yeah, (a bleach fan?) I like it...lol! And my avatar section does look rather boring. Maybe I’ll look for a pic.
We put a couple of pics up in linkmaster's ghost thread, and he hasn't responded about them. So I suppose you're free to use one of those if you like.

Re: Is God inconsistent...or are Christians?

For Christians, God is always the central authority. His law supersedes that of man's. Abortion is an example. What versus would you cite for the abortion aspect? I don't know why you're arguing with Bav the way you are. You seem to turn things around much. You claim that you believe God's morals a...

Re: The complexity of life, Proof of God?

What's more is we are a compilation of a bunch of living cells working in unison to continue our lives, yet each cell is alive on it's own, What amazes me too is how things grow. I mean, humans take a long time to grow to adulthood. All that time, so many things in the body are growing and changing...

Re: Is God inconsistent...or are Christians?

Montana, God gave us a new covenant. Times are different, circumstances are different, and those things are real. We can't control them all, whatsoever, so to somehow place better or worse morality on punishments doesn't make any sense. The act itself - say with murder or homosexual sex - is immoral...

Re: Is God inconsistent...or are Christians?

There's no doubt that things have changed. Do you think that God's command to execute homosexuals has changed? If not, then Christians are not behaving morally by not executing homosexuals, correct? If God's command to execute homosexuals has changed, then how is this not an example of relative mor...

Re: Is God inconsistent...or are Christians?

If a child steals a lollipop from a store, are you saying there is no good or evil action that the store worker can take here? Only just or unjust? That if the worker notifies the child's parents or authorities, this is not a good thing (nor bad thing), it is simply a "just" thing? And if...

Re: question about climate change and the Bible

Not only presenting the - I hope you will agree - absurd idea that you can somehow divine the long-term state of global climate via the weather in your back yard, but attempting to bolster this idea by quoting from a tabloid. I don't know for sure what tabloid you're referring to, since I didn't go...

Neat, a lot of Biola speakers. Craig Hazen's book, Five Sacred Crossings, is good, I thought; he might be selling it there. I wish I could go to that one in Texas!

Hey BW, the photo of you smiling in your fb photo album (at the table) is nicer to me than the one you use. :esmile: Smiles are good!

Kristoffer, I didn't get to see that show BW posted about, but he has a web site somewhere . . . here it is http://afterhoursministries.com/Home.html
