Bill Nye to Debate Ken Ham on Creationism/Creation Science
So apparently the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky will be hosting a debate between the museum's founder (Ken Ham) and popular scientist and science educator, Bill Nye. Here are a few articles regarding the announcement: http://www.christianpost.com/news/bill-nye-ken-ham-to-hold-debate-on-via...

Re: Differences in Conservative and Liberal Brains
IMHO - that study is pure hogwash... and filled with bias slant toward one group alone ... not worth the time to read. A Spurious study... I don't know, these are 16 different studies that have all been independently reviewed for peer-reviewed journals...And most of them aren't particularly surpris...

Re: Duck Dynasty guy offends gay people with scripture
I guess its ok to say things about adulterers and swingers, but not Gays. So much for freedom of expression. I doubt the show would have suspended him if he just said he disagreed with homosexuality. But when you compare gay sex to bestiality, or say that being gay is just a gateway to being a horr...

Re: Questioning Dawkins
I have to say this is rather unimpressive due to the harsh jump-cuts in the film, the really unprofessional added sound effects, and the fact that it unbelievably cuts off the answer to the last question, since obviously the exchange does not end there. Why cut it off there? To make Dawkins look dum...

Re: Porn addiction: how to leave it?
It's a tough one. when you think about it, porn addiction is basically the same as any other addiction...you use something, chemicals are released into your brain, you get a brief high, and your brain starts to crave it. So when you look at it that way, one could probably look to other possible solu...

Re: Quantum mechanics debunks god?
There's a lot of questions here, but I think you could easily answer all of them at once. You can't apply the supernatural (in this case, God) to a purely natural scientific theory (quantum mechanics) and expects everything to perfectly match up. So no, I don't think that quantum mechanics does anyt...

Re: Is the Bible Homophobic?
Just a few things that came to mind when I read the questions. If I'm unclear, just ask...I'm rather tired as I write these. 1. Does science and the theory of evolution disprove the Bible? No. Our current scientific knowledge might not support certain interpretations of the Bible, but the Bible is v...

Re: Exodus International?
Mr. Chambers gives quite a speech, I really enjoyed listening to him. I may not agree with all of his beliefs, but he seems like a very genuine and honestly remorseful man.
On a side note, he references Lord of the Rings in his farewell speech. That is pretty awesome.

Re: Exodus International?
Exodus International disbanded earlier this summer. Their leader presented an apology and cited a desire to move into a new realm of Christian ministry, and I believe he has openly stated that he and many of his fellow Exodus International leaders came to the conclusion that their focus on homosexua...

Re: Evidence: Prayer Brings Man Back To Life
If you look around for it, people claim to have been brought back to life after praying to gods in the Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and any other faiths that you can think of. Does that mean that false idols brought those people back to life? Are they just lying, while the proper Christians who tell these s...

Re: Is the Bible Homophobic?
I guess it depends on your definition of "homophobic" is. If you simply take it to mean "disapproves/condemns homosexuality" then you would probably have a case to say yes. If you mean it as "hates homosexuals" or "teaches fear/hate/prejudice against homosexuals&qu...

Re: Evidence of Jesus?
I think the evidence for Jesus being a real historical figure is pretty apparent and easily accessible all over the place. Even the vast majority of non-believers will accept that as a fact. Very, very few people that I have ever met (and I have met plenty of non-believers) actually think Jesus was ...

Re: Evolutionary Retardation
I have a few problems with this concept. First, mental retardation is not on the rise as much as many people think it is. Within the past several decades, many mental disorders have been dramatically re-defined to include a broader group of people. Autism Spectrum Disorder is probably the best examp...

By "evolutionary retardation," do you mean the idea that mental retardation in humans is on the rise because of some evolutionary pressure caused by increased technology use?

Here are two articles talking about the "research" done linking vaccination to autism. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052748704113504575264513643960110 http://www.cnn.com/2011/HEALTH/01/05/autism.vaccines/ Long story short, in the 1990's this doctor in the UK wrote a paper s...
