I accept your admonishment that what we believe should be based on scripture but it appears that this is also implying that there is an interpretation of scriptures that support never ending torment when I don't believe there is. B.W., all I can say is that I don't know how you can live with the bottom line of this kind of reasoning. And what purpose does judgement and sentence and punishment serve? I believe the purpose would be that a just God requires a penalty for the sin of rejecting His provision of salvation.
