Re: Where do I go from here?
A bit of my life story before I get to the question; bear with me. After reading CS Lewis' book "Mere Christianity", I came to fall in love with Christianity, or at least the idea of it, entirely. It was refreshing. Up till then, all religious teaching I'd received sounded trivialized and...

Re: Homosexuality and destroying faith
Well, the right question to ask is not "do I like what he's saying," but rather "is what he saying true?" And the best way to determine that is to look at the two important properties of his argument, philosophically speaking -- soundness and validity. If you're lucky, the argum...

Re: Carrie Prejean's Gay Marriage Controversy
BavarianWheels brings up a good and obvious point. It is important to understand that moral absolutes are passe. Breaking marital vows are common place and engaging in sexual activities outside marriage has long been accepted. The next logical step is embracing homosexuality. Perhaps pedophilia is n...

Re: pigs flying/ swine flu....get it?
Here in western New York state, one "reported" case in one school has raised debate about closing the school. By "reported", I mean they reported one case of the flu, unconfirmed as swine flu...then disputed...then reevaluated...then listed as "possible"...in other word...

Re: Souter retiring
May I add that Ruth Bader Ginsberg has serious health issues. There is a strong possibility that Obama's administration will be responsible for more than one replacement. Regardless of Obama's decisions, it is imperative to remember that God is sovereign.

Re: GODLESS BY DAN BARKER
I haven't read the book. I can say that Mr. Barker has flatly lost debates to Dinesh D'Souza and even the acerbic Todd Freil. He presents a weak argument.
I have found that virtually all published atheists have offered little new material in presenting an argument.
Thanks.

Re: Carrie Prejean's Gay Marriage Controversy
In today's culture, if you don't fully agree with someone and accept what they say as true without question, you are labeled "intolerant". :shakehead: Interestingly enough, I know there are those in the gay lifestyle who are opposed to same-sex marriage. They, of course, are not "into...

Re: Iowa legalises same-sex marriage, and DC may do the same
New York state is on the brink of legalizing same sex marriage. The state governor here...with a 24% approval rating from liberals as well as conservatives... is desperate to show some form of "leadership".
