Re: Eternal Security...

Well I guess that means that we're all going to hell then- yourself included. Because you nor anyone else will ever be perfect while they're living.

Re: Eternal Security...

What I am saying is that the people that wrote the KJV had the same meaning for the work complete and perfect as we have to day and they felt that perfect was better suted for the veres then complete so they put complet there. I trust there writings more then the writing of people today because if ...

Re: Eternal Security...

Well first the NIV was not written according to the people that wrote it because the KJV was wrong in any way but it was written to make it easier to under stand. Unlike what people say today the writers believe the KJV was right but it was difficult for the average person to under stand. Did you e...

Re: My journey

So glad to read your story. God can even use Gnostic heresies sometimes!

When you study the scriptures, be sure to burn the sayings of Jesus into your memory. Not just the suffering servant of the Gospels, but also the reigning king of Revelation. His letters to the churches are vital.

Re: Eternal Security...

Actually I think the way the KJV was written is way more prone to accuracy then the bibles that are write to day. Since the KJV is based solely upon the TR and not the majority manuscripts, that is an incorrect statement. The KJV is indeed a good translation, but the translators were not inspired a...

Re: Eternal Security...

that is why I do not like the NIV it changes the meanings of verses Actually it could be a lot closer to the original meaning than the KJV since it's based on the eclectic text and note solely the textus receptus. (The eclectic text includes the TR, btw) But I propose the KJV translators didn't mea...

Re: Eternal Security...

Luk 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. and we should live right now Yes the Mosaic law never stated that even being angry was a sin and that just looking at a woman with lust was a sin. Jesus came and made things harder...

Re: Eternal Security...

So according to what is being said it is imposable to live a sinless life by the law? no one can do it but God. 100% correct! Read through the sermon on the mount again. Ever been angry with someone? Well that's equal to murder. Ever lusted for a woman even if you didn't act on it? Well that's appa...

Re: Doctrine of Hell

When you choose Christ, it is because He has chosen you through His love and sacrifice. He has died for all, for both believing and unbelieving, because all have sinned and need salvation. You belong to Christ not on the basis of your merit in choosing Him, but by the merit of God choosing the worl...

Re: Eternal Security...

Let's see. You think it's possible to live a sinless life... And the bible says in 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. And Ecclesiates 7:20 Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins. Do you...

Re: Doctrine of Hell

No but if you die not believing then you are not one of the ones coming to him. So you're saying what Jesus really meant was that He will not lose any of those given, but they are not given until death based upon whether or not they die believing? So really in life if you have a genuine faith you a...

Re: Doctrine of Hell

I believe that Eternal life is for people who believe. That the promise he gave was for those that believe and if you stop believing then you no longer believeth in him and it says who so ever believeth not who so ever at one time or another believed. So, once you believe- if at any point in the fu...

Re: Eternal Security...

No one here is saying that it's ok to "live in sin" after being saved. And I would agree with you that living in sin isn't good evidence of salvation for sure. The person likely needs Christ. We're just saying that you will continue to sin even after being saved because you still have fles...

Re: Doctrine of Hell

jpbg33 wrote:No but there is a possibility that he is referring to people are in the proses of coming to him when they die. which would make other verses fit with that verse more with out saying any of the verses are not literal.
Please explain that in detail. I am seriously interested.
