Re: Question

Killing the child isn't going to heal the mental anguish from the rape. If the woman doesn't want to risk keeping the child due to the constant reminder, she can give it up for adoption. The child didn't choose to be conceived, it is totally innocent.

Maybe it's black-fire, brah.

Re: The NKJV re examined

God can reach you through a newspaper, but that does not mean it is the ordained and preserved Word of God. And only the TR is, eh? I will watch the Walter Veith video, digest it, and respond to it here when I have time. Without watching the video, I bet he's going to go the route of trying to show...

Re: The NKJV re examined

I hope you find out otherwise, that she is being misrepresented for attacking the works of Satan. The reaction of 'scholars' is no basis for dismissing her work. Misrepresented in what way? Please be specific. As far as I know, quoting her book and then responding to it is not a misrepresentation. ...

Likewise, sir. You could be right about me jumping at shadows, I am just really hyper-sensitive to anything that feels even remotely New Agey.

Re: Is Jesus the only way?

Reading back over this it does seem very Calvinistic, but I feel that freewill is still in action alongside God's sovereignty. y:-? Yeah, I struggle with it all the time. My wife and I will have discussions about free will and God's sovereignty and I always find myself playing Calvin's advocate. I ...

Re: Does the forum believe in the rapture??

There's a lot to go over in Mallz's post. I haven't the time right now, but I'll probably take a stab at it later. Once again, I'd recommend Chris White's video that I linked earlier for a very long presentation about why he (and I- for right now anyway- I'm open to change.) believes in the post-tri...

Re: The NKJV re examined

Still reads the same to me, maybe you are jumping at shadows? I don't know, man. I see clear differences in the text that have nothing to do with making it easier to understand. If you don't see them in the passages I cited, I'm honestly not sure how to show them more clearly to you. There's a bunc...

Re: The NKJV re examined

I don't see the difference, I get the same meaning from both. The way I read it, Peterson appears to make room for loving, same-sex marriages. Another example of the same thing. In this one he takes out homosexuality altogether and adds an environmental twist: (ESV) 1 Corinthians 6:9-11: Or do you ...

Re: The NKJV re examined

Personally I like the message as it is like reading a book and the NASB, ESV and NIV I like also. I don't like The Message because it's a paraphrase and the language isn't pretty at all. Peterson also completely decimates Paul's letters. Go read a side by side comparison. An example: (NIV) Romans 1...

Re: Does Evolution and Science draw people away from God?

Of course, none of us are ever a pain in the *** to our spouses, right? RIGHT???!!! And they never tell us that we are...RIGHT??? My wife is so polite she often responds to me by saying, "Yes, SIR!!!" Yet perhaps with just a slight touch of sarcasm. I will readily admit that my marri...

I would expect that the folks in the videos mean every single version except for the (probably 1769) KJV, which- as we all know- fell out of heaven on a golden cloud.

Re: The NKJV re examined

Gail Riplinger is quite wacky and completely out of her depth. She now refuses to debate with any scholar on the subject.

Re: Does the forum believe in the rapture??

Let me explain for clarification why the verses you gave refer to the 2nd coming and not the rapture, you asked about Matthew 24:29-30 and I say it refers to the 2nd coming and not the rapture,I could see how verse 30 appears to be referring to the rapture but in the rapture Jesus descends from heav...
