Re: ID/Evolution and Michael Behe

Kinda busy atm (watching cricket :D) so will respond later tonight in full. In short though, you really need to do some homework surrounding ID. In the Kitzmiller trial for example, the judge ignored testimony and misrepresented Behe's own words in his judgement! ID is only "not science" only when i...

Re: Kent Hovind - Powerful evidence for a young earth

For those interested, I did e-mail the Dr Dino site and they have responded: We are so glad that you have been blessed by the Creation videos put out by CSE. Thank you for the encouragement your words have been to us. If you have watched the Creation Seminar by Dr. Hovind, then you know that he does...

Re: Kent Hovind - Powerful evidence for a young earth

Stu, the difference between casting stones at believers who sin, and pointing out Hovind's sentence, is that as far as I know, Hovind remains unrepentant for the crimes that landed him in prison. Hmm thanks, I never knew that... He is truly full of himself. Hovind, IMO, is a horrible caricature of ...

Re: My Dad's Argument and My Sister's Stress?

Irreducible complexity is a dead argument, Stu...It doesn't work as a scientific argument. It's been tried for a long time by saying "Even simple constructs are too complex to have arisen in a step by step process." But, one of the most commonly used examples of this argument, the flagella in singl...

Re: What is hell like?

Yeah my post did take a slightly more solemn tone following on from your more light-hearted comment  Yeah, well, Stu, it's the first day back to work, school and the real world for many of us, so I just figured discussing hell on the equivalent of a Monday might be just too much for some, haha...

Re: My Dad's Argument and My Sister's Stress?

Darwinian evolution is dead in the water, materialists just don't have anything else to replace it with just yet... But Behe's ideas have been around for awhile. Why haven't they found widespread acceptance among scientists, especially scientists who are Christians? What makes you think they don't?...

Re: What is hell like?

What is hell like.. complete and utter loneliness could be one version. Trust me I've been there, it is the worst feeling imaginable. Now extend that to eternity, not a place I would send the worst person I know, enemy or not. This guy experiences something similar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR...

Re: My Dad's Argument and My Sister's Stress?

My father is a "typical" atheist. He believes nothing the Bible says, yet, he doesn't read it. He claims that it contradicts itself. By contradicts itself I mean It says one thing then says another abolshing that for said first law that was there (His Eyes). So what made this argument come up was m...

Re: Kent Hovind - Powerful evidence for a young earth

His issues with regard to his imprisonment are independent of his YEC views. His legal issues were with regard to tax payment so if someone wants to be convinced outside of that then that's their perogative. I think it goes to character and that there are better sources to draw positions from, but ...

Re: Catholicism

I'm a former pastor who's done academic work in the area of Biblical Literature, will that work? ;) I guess  Seriously, this is a version that's in the public domain so there should be multiple online sources since there's no copyright to be concerned about, unless there's additional note...

Re: Kent Hovind - Powerful evidence for a young earth

Hovind is an embarrasment to YEC. He was very impressed with his own humor and laced his presentations with these kinds of 'slips.' I assure you they were intentional. Gotta disagree with you there. Personally I think he made some fairly good jokes throughout his seminar's ;) So he laughed at a few...

Re: Catholicism

Stu, Bill's link directly above yours gives a link to an online text. Also, I believe that some of the online Bible Text sites include this translation as an option to display. You should be able to find what you need online, with just a little searching. Thanks yeah I had a look at the link. It's ...

Re: Catholicism

I just wanted to address the original post and say that a simple google search would have sufficed to answer silly little questions like did the Catholic Church alter the 10 Commandments. Is that really necessary? Altering the Ten Commandments is hardly a 'silly little question'? My first post I ac...

Re: Kent Hovind - Powerful evidence for a young earth

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szBTl3S24MY He messed up badly on minute 52. First he called Carl Sagan Carl Pagan and then he called National Geographic National... well I will let you look it up. LOL but it's probably bad to laugh about... Been watching a lot of Hovind's stuff of late and from wha...
