Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

I do consider all 10 Commandments the same. All 10 Commandments are part of the Old Covenant Mosaic Law. Show me where the "covenant" exists in the 10 Commandments. Then we'll move on to Cain and his offering. Which of these two statements do you disagree with... - The 10 Commandments are part of t...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

That's not what Jesus says... "In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat ." Jesus states that the consecrated bread was "lawful only for priests to eat". So according to Jesus, David eating consecrated...

Re: What is His name?

NO one holds up their salvation with human effort! It is GOD who initiates, guides and completes one's salvation. What, are you going to "boast" that YOU kept your salvation intact because of YOUR faithfulness???!!! No boasting. I don't think it's boasting to use the intellect God gave us. God gave...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

However, if we as Christians obey the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 22 to " love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind" and "love your neighbor as yourself" then our behavior will be consistent with the behavior that we see described in the 10 Commandm...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Lets not forget that it is not the day which is important since all of the law, Including the sabbath and ot was a shadow of the real thing to come - Christ. That's not true. Christ was not "to come" when the Sabbath was made holy. The Sabbath was made holy on the Seventh Day of Creation when there...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

However, the first question then becomes very significant. "Was it lawful or unlawful for David to eat consecrated bread?" You haven't answered that question yet... (but Jesus does answer that specific question in Mark 2:26) According to the passage, the bread was ok for the men to have if they wer...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Jesus is perfectly sinless. Which is very different from your definition of perfect "law keeper" as Mark 2 and 7 demonstrate. I don't know...how do you know what sin is, or for that matter what it means to be "sinless"? Sure he is... it's right there in the text of Mark 2:23-28 Jesus is explicitly ...

Re: Easy math problem

It's the time of the month that I allow my wife out of the basement for good behavior. So, we are staying in a condo near Destin, FL. So, here's the simple math problem. First one who correctly answers, gets a fruitcake emoticon as reward. We left our home near Jacksonville, FL at 7:35 AM. After st...

Re: What is His name?

And once one trusts in Christ, one becomes a new creation, passing from death, to life. Are you saying, then, that once a person trusts in Christ, there's no manner in which to distrust in Christ afterwards? Are we unable to change our minds or does God close His eyes and ears to us after we've "pu...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

This is where we disagree. Jesus isn't a perfect Law keeper? I think Jesus is making the total opposite point in Mark 2 to what you are asserting. In Mark 2 Jesus is equating working on the Sabbath (which is unlawful) with eating consecrated bread (which is also unlawful). He's not equating them......

(Jesus describes it as "unlawful")
Yes...He did describe it as "unlawful"...but that was ACCORDING to the Pharisees manner of "keeping" the Sabbath. Men's traditions.

So was walking too many steps, etc...

Re: God's Ten Commandments? Still valid?

Do you think David 'broke the Law' when he ate consecrated bread? Do you think David sinned when he ate consecrated bread? It doesn't matter unless you're making the case that David was without sin. I'm not. It is Jesus who establishes equivalence between picking grain on the Sabbath and David eati...

Re: What is His name?

What then of those Jews who rejected Christ's Gift of Salvation? Did that automatically condemn them to Hell? Of course not, but they did remain under the OT law. Rejecting Christ's gift of salvation does not afford them another salvation. The only salvation is that through Christ. I think we agree...
