. . I find it somewhat comical that your wife's friend would base her belief (or lack thereof) of religion on the example of criminals...especially knowing the reasoning behind their supposed conversion. (I do realize some are genuine) However, I too share in her "misery" somewhat as I too am a Chri...

Re: Best Bible Translation?
I read from the 1611 KJV. Is there a better English translation out there? Or, the only way we can truly read from inerrant scripture is to know Hebrew and Greek? That seems kind of intense for me. Isn't that what a lot of people believe - that only the original texts are free from errors? While it...

Re: If Bush wins
If it would make things easier on you, I can just "say" I'm a Calvinist if you like...otherwise...No. Can God not do as He pleases? Or is He bound by our decisions and/or prayers? Is it not God's will be done and not ours? . . If it looks, walks, talks, and smells like a horse, must be a horse ;). ...

hehe, yeah . . . makes sense to me :) You're right...it does make sense. However it doesn't make sense when one reads the words in... Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me... For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person acco...

Bav, Imagine this: Jesus dies on Friday, as we noted. The soldiers don't know he is dead yet, nor do the Pharisees, so they go to Pilate and ask to have the men's legs broken because tomorrow is the Sabbath (see previous verse references). They go out and break the legs of the two thieves. The go t...

. . Ask yourself this question. Why break the legs of already dead men. The text plainly says they didn't break Christ's legs because he was already dead...meaning the other two weren't already dead. My argument is not which day Christ died...I think that is clear. It is when did the other two die. ...

Re: If Bush wins
It is my belief that God will put in charge whom He thinks fits regardless of my vote. Are you sure you aren't a Calvinist? Bah, I'm moving this . . . If it would make things easier on you, I can just "say" I'm a Calvinist if you like...otherwise...No. Can God not do as He pleases? Or is He bound b...

. . As has been mentioned twice already in the past week...the account of the thief in Luke... Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." has been the subject of much debate. To me, the absence of punctuation in the original language is cause for concern as to...

Re: God + love + hell = ?
This is a question I get asked often. If God is so loving why did He create a hell to eternally punish people? Why didn't He just put the fruit from the tree of knowledge good/evil up a little higher so sin would have never entered into the world? Why didn't He prevent all this from happening so no...

The problem with this is that religion shouldn't be mixed in with politics. Politics are, in nature, full of lies and deceit. Show me a polition who's been able to keep their "religious" beliefs out of politics, and I'll show you how they really haven't. ;) I think this is an idealistic view, but i...
