Re: If God is all-knowing...

Maybe you're looking at it the wrong way. Is the fact that we rebelled against God necessarily a bad thing, in the end? God obviously would have known what we would do, try thinking of a reason why he would allow it to be so.

Re: Christ not the only way to God

Now let's say for whatever reason, the students of one scientist thinks that theirs is the only data set that matters, and that their method for measurment is the only one that is correct, then they might be limiting themselves to a smaller dataset. That is not to say that the students of this scie...

Re: Genetics and Homosexuality: Are People Born Gay?

Bryan,

What motivated people to torture others in the Spanish Inquisition, force religion by means of Constantine and kill others in the Holy Crusades? Do you really think that religion motivated all of this, even if religion says to do the exact opposite?

Re: Arrogant atheist

You cannot forget that the main motivation behind the inquisition, the Holy Crusades, and almost all abuse of God's name was actually power. All of these groups used Christianity as an excuse to perform heinous crimes for their own benefit... be it the expansion of their power by means of territory ...

Re: Freewill in Heaven

We are using our freewill to choose to be removed from sin. We are choosing to completely reject that part of our lives. Like the Vulcans choosing to reject emotion, except... diferent :ewink: :)

Re: Sin In Heaven

Direct correlation: Sinful thoughts come from the heart. God will give us a new heart. You do know that it is part of the gift to have our sin taken away, right? We are choosing to be God's children and utterly abandoning sin in every form. It is a HUGE choice to make... why else would God give the ...

Re: Christ not the only way to God

And no, you cannot find true fulfillment through books and knowledge, only through experience. I agree with this completely. But based on the context of your previous posts, you are offering this up in order to derail all of us Christians and our "book logic" arguments while you yourself can sit bac...

Re: Christ not the only way to God

Buddhawarrior... You often bring up the concept of different languages in your "arguments". For instance, your demonstration that 2+2=4 is only true because of our numerical and mathematical system, and the example of different words for the same thing in different tongues. I understand your logic, ...

Re: reap what you what again ?

Maybe none of the above. Sometimes sinning is just hand-down stupid. You know, there's more than just an empty reason for more than one of the guidelines given in the bible. If you mean that a person sins and faces a troublesome time long after the sin I would say this happens to anyone. What you ha...

Re: Why would God raise humans through evolution?

I'm with Dan on this one. I look at the universe and it just SCREAMS symphony to me. Maybe the Beginning was the exposition, we are in the development and the Second Coming is the recapitulation (musician here! :D )!

Re: Questions from a new Christian

1. About Noah's ark: There are many different viewpoints on the ark. I think that B.W. gave a great reply above. I personally think that the flood was confined to a very large portion of the Middle East and beyond at a time when humanity had not spread out very far, therefore the ark would only need...

I know the feeling... sometimes when you're stressed or busy, or even just feeling a bit unusual, these things happen. I wouldn't worry. I am this way every now and then.

I'm not a moderator, but I'd just like to point you to the Board Guidelines... remember that this site is more like an online church, open for honest "seekers" (those who have an actual desire to see if Christianity is right for them), not a forum for nasty debates. The reason we often become upset ...

Re: Why do many christians not like homosexuals?

Glancing at the posts on this page, I just have to make a note that I have made on another thread. Ivellious, I want to call your attention to a very important fact regarding sin. Many people with more liberal social ideals hold what is right and wrong based on its impact on society... that is, how ...
