Re: Apparently humans and neanderthals did NOT breed...

Ivellious wrote:Again, your point just shows no understanding for how evolution can work.
Although it is not essential to understand evolution to introduce a different and better explanation, it is very unusual in science for break-through upheavals to come from those who do not grasp the status-quo.

Re: Evolution and Intelligent Design

Please show me a real time natural phenomenon (preferably backed up by scientific experiments) of a species transitioning into another (that could not also be explained by common design). THAT, in a nutshell, is where the real disagreement is. It can't be done. And the same reasoning can be applied...

Re: Apparently humans and neanderthals did NOT breed...

Don't forget that Adam & Eve were the only hominid without a fur covering requiring them to wear clothing. How did that get selected for from an evolutionary perspective I think the missionary gene mutation required the natives to cover their naked selves. Strangely both male and female would have ...

Re: Evolution and Intelligent Design

The problem is when you say that evolution and ID make the exact same assertions. Here's why that is incorrect: Evolution proposes that all species had a common ancestor. ID proposes life is only related by their designer. Huge difference. The common ancestor concept can be falsified. There could b...

And yes, "chemical evolution" is an accepted phrase, in which "evolution" does not have exactly the same definition as in "biological evolution". http://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlehtml/2012/cs/c2cs35073d Chemical evolution from simple inorganic compounds to chiral peptides  Thomas A. Re: Evolution and Intelligent Design

I'm not arguing that the system isn't there. I'm arguing that you are jumping to a conclusion when we are still left with a mystery. Just as Behe had his flagellum. No one was arguing that the flagellum wasn't there, or that it didn't express machine-like characteristics. Even if we didn't know how...

Re: Evolution and Intelligent Design

The evidence is plainly showing that there is a system of spatiotemporal positional control functioning within all life. No one is denying that. [And your citations show scientists have been aware of this for some time.] You would like us to believe that evolution was functioning prior to life, pri...

Re: Evolution and Intelligent Design

I lean towards evolution but he sure made some hell of a points back there. What exactly are his points? As many people do with my examples, i am mystified by his examples and writing style. The way i look at things is so different from his that i frequently do not understand what point he is tryin...

Re: Evolution and Intelligent Design

ID explains the origins of life and of the diversity of life by saying "poof, it happened, so deal with it, end of story." ... But in other areas of science (and by that I mean all of them), scientists strive to discover the how, the why, the when, the where, the what-is-doing-it...ID addresses non...

Re: Evolution and Intelligent Design

Can inteligence be detected? Usually, but first it must be defined. We both know that defining it specifically is a problem. However, you can't say on one hand that it can usually be detected and then on the other that it must first be defined. If it requires a specified definition before you can d...

I didn't skim over it; i skipped it. I am not a biologist. I don't know enough to comment.
I however do try to back up what statements i do make.

Re: New Book on the Giraffe's Neck

yup the textbooks were wrong and not one evolutionary scientist made any effort to have them corrected. That's disingenuous at best and a pretty low blow in my opinion. The earlier reference to Gould (from 1996 ( http://bill.srnr.arizona.edu/classes/182/Giraffe/Tallest%20Tale-Illus.pdf and he withi...

Re: Evolution and Intelligent Design

1) Can inteligence be detected? 2) how? 3) Is a bird or a bee natural? 4) how do you know? 1) Usually, but first it must be defined. 2) Depends on the definition - problem solving might be one way. 3) depends on definition used of natural; by almost all meanings, yes 4) by one common definition; it...
