Ouch, being a science teacher in a Christian school, that hurts  I guess I do some good  It is sad that such a noble thing like understanding God's creation has been polluted by meaningless philosophies. Love the Lord your God with all your mind coupled with Psalm 19 would indicate that...

Oh, I agree Lest there be any confusion, i'm with you...although natural selecvtion itself does not necessarily lead to macroevolution. I think everybody is fearful of selection, when even Jacob selected his sheep and produced populations frequency changes. Ultimately, it comes down to whether mutat...

Originally, they had found long stretches of DNA that didnot seem to code for anything. They thought this was junk DNA. It would be like you reading my sentence anuieawhnufwieahfueiawhfueifhafewaghioh and then suddenly the sentencejnionhohaghge was interspersed aivornaonv iugre with nonsense. :D HAd...

I wasn't saying we came from apes then why are there still apes. I was saying, according to evolution (Surivival of the fittest) APEMEN were 'fitter' than apes. Yet APEMEN are gone and APES are still here. Why? If APEMEN were 'fitter' than apes, then apes should be gone and we should have apemen. I...

YOu cannot use the arguemtn about the apes evolving into humans, so why are there still apes? This is very frustrating becuase this is not what the evolutionary theory states and it shows basic ignorance on the part of CHristians. Further it does even more damage in the debate because it shows that ...

Somehow this conversation went from sacrifcie to judgement and, withall due respect, I cannot agree with your arguements. Nor do I fully understand the drstic switch of topics. One, for the very simple reason that the reasons why people are not married have so many factors that to simply generalize ...

From what I remember in learning about Paul (although please, others who might know more, chime in), his statemnts were not meant to be outright condemnation of marriage. If I recall correctly, Paul was addressing a specific issue at the church at the time, stating that at this time, it would be wis...

I don't necessarily disagree. My only contention becomes, as you also stated, what is behind it all. Genesis clearly states that GOd planned the creation, conducted the events, deliberately and thoughtfully caused things to happen. If He caused changes over time, perhaps that was timeline. Who knows...

I think FFC choose one of the best verses here. BE willing to make living sacrifices, be transformed... You mentioned marriage and sacrifice. Certainly I don't think marriage is something God wants us to sacrifice. However, for marriage, those married are bound to each other. Their old selves would ...

I think currently our knowledge points to an old earth. Not saying this might not be overturned by new discoveries, but other thread here have discussed this. Plenty of different evidence that supports an old universe.

You bring up an interesting point about the storytelling... One of my most fascinating classes was my Mechanisms in Evolutionary Physiology class. One of the lectures concerned the earlier methods of "research" into evolution before the mid to late 70's. Much of the research assumed correlations tha...

They have explanations, it's simply a matter of what people believe are plausible. Their explanation rests on random mutations that provided for reproductive and survival advantages. Natural selection simply then selected those that had those mutations that fit the demands of the environment. So, ye...

Remember too, that many people don't know or don't want to debate effectivcely. When I first introduce evolution to my students and challenge them to explain why they don't support it, many simply start with "it's stupid"...not an effective way to debate and certainly not a reason to not support it....

Sargon, First, I feel led to apologize if I was less than civilised. My hope is always that my arguments are led by reason. I wish that I felt that you are willing to address and debate. Your arguments come off as dismissive (don't have time, not interested, not what I wanted to talk about, not a th...
