Re: Medical Dilemma

It sounds like a terrible situation indeed for the pair. My thoughts are also for the lass to undergo the c-section. For the poor wee babe to be put through the trauma of premature birth (The wonders of modern medical science that allows the little tike to survive this is, I find, amazing). Of note ...

Re: The Foolishness of Many Non-believers

Pull your head out of the sand Thad. You don't know what you're talking about. I am quite happy to acknowledge that I do not know what I am talking about.... And these people above, as you might have realized, are not only more educated on the issue than you, but they know they're supporting the te...

...(perhaps you guys have coerced an abortion in a girlfriend or something?)... Um..where did this comment come from? ...But human life actually begins at conception... And...as is being pointed out before...while the cells are indeed multiplying etc...and alive...what is and is not human is being ...

Re: The Foolishness of Many Non-believers

I simply believe you are mistaken in your knowledge on the issues. Perhaps this link -- http://www.secularprolife.org/#!abortion/cimp -- will help you gather your thoughts. It won't do to simply reject what I present with your opinion. Want to discuss further, then happy to discuss your disagreemen...

Re: The Foolishness of Many Non-believers

Catching up on the comment that I dind't see. You're wrong Thad if you think "human life" after conception is not a human life. But...I have not said this. At conception all human chromosomes are in place. You have a very complex cell that contains all the information that makes up your physical att...

Re: The Foolishness of Many Non-believers

Ok, never-mind. I just thought you might have something more to add, like the other caveats and their implications thereof. Oh...well...you could always go and review the very helpful thread started about the boards, set up quite helpfully by another board member for information about just such sai...

Re: The Foolishness of Many Non-believers

To answer my own question in a manner I believe more coherent and deeper-thinking Atheists may respond. Q: Is it "right" or "wrong" to kill off the weak and helpless? Emotions aside, why or why not? A: Evolution is all about survival of the fittest. Those unable to adapt must and do die out, leavin...

Re: The best argument for atheism

Which of those gods came down to earth? Which of which gods? In Greek and Roman mythology, pretty much all of them. Same for Norse etc. Then you have the Buddha transcending, hence a person kid of 'going the other way'....(Though I've probably mangled that idea quite thoroughly with this quick post...

:D

You are most welcome. My question is one of the reasons I pp into this forum.

Of the many gods...and many of the interpretations of the gods.....where is the trail?

Much cheers to all.

*Wonders when people will start talking about climate...and stop wondering about the weather*

72' F, 80% humidity... and not raining.

How does that work? How can the humidity be so high and water NOT fall out of the sky? y:-?

Much cheers to all.

Re: Sunday Assembly: a church for unbelievers

He was only referring to the first cause. The first cause, by definition, is outside of time and space. Possessing a will allows for this cause to exist independently of the universe in the sense that it can choose whether or not to create. Without a will, the cause could only create simply due to ...

Re: Sunday Assembly: a church for unbelievers

Okay... I've kind of lost the original post where I started at the bottom... But we're seemingly going great guns here so lets keep on chugging. :) But before I even do that, let me offer a few definitions and if you agree with them (I hope that you do) then we can continue: Yup, sweet. - There is o...

[Fine, I will try to work within your definitions. Huh? They are you definitions... Not mine. Though, again, I must comment on not understanding the last part => "Most importantly, possessing the will to create." Why? There are a great many things which have (And are) coming into existence now with...
