Re: Firstborn

1stjohn, I know you like to quote Hebrews 1:5, to try to show erroneously that since Jesus was begotten, he's not God. But, what do you do with Hebrews 1:8: 8But of the Son He says, “YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. God the Father cal...

Re: Firstborn

How do you interpret "firstborn" in Col 1:15 "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation"? Not the same way your cultic logic dictates to the unwary... So lets begin: Your cultic presupposition interprets "firstborn" used in Col 1:15 to mean &q...

Re: Firstborn

If there was no Son of God before He was born of Mary, then how do you reconcile that all was created by Him and Through Him ? 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. John 1:3? All things came into being through the Fathers voic...

Re: Firstborn

Okay Rick LOL
You can have Strong's "as embodying an idea" LOGOS God's very own spoken word which was with him and was him. God had an idea to save mankind "Christ is the embodiment of Gods idea"

Re: Firstborn

The New American Bible has this to say about the word "logos" in a footnote: "May denote an internal reasoning process, plan, or intention, as well as an external word, speech, or message." In Greek, the word "logos" according to Vine’s Expository Dictionary means: Logo...

Re: Firstborn

I don't buy into a "post biblical" concept that took centuries to develop.

Re: The sons of Abraham

John, here's a link that shows from scripture, that Jesus is God. I don't think it's the graph I'm remembering, but until I find the graph link, this one is great too. http://www.godandscience.org/doctrine/songod.html Nice list. 1) Jesus is not all knowing, the human Jesus on Earth and the ascended...

Re: Firstborn

John, was Jesus, was the Son of God created by God? What does Luke 1:35 say of the subject? Begotten means to come into existence. Deut 18:15-18, Isa 51:16, Acts 3:20-26 are key texts. By Gods own word, YES I believe that Jesus was a uniquely begotten person. It was a miracle birth, not by sexual r...
