Re: Jesus' family members in history
Well, the only one I can tell you is James. Which is in the Bible haha.

Re: Several questions concerning the fall and evil
Mag, Has anyone else asked you why you're here? Because if you're so firm in your beliefs and don't want to participate in civil and researched discourse, then you might want to reconsider your choice in forums. Although I, and I'm sure other members, would like you to stay, it would benefit both us...

Re: I'm having doubts about my salvation again
Well, I'll start from the beginning I guess. When I went off to college, it rocked my faith... hard. I guess that I had never really had the strongest foundation for my faith. I was thrown for a loop by all the Atheist arguments. And since then, it's been a kind of up and down struggle. I keep going...

Re: I'm having doubts about my salvation again
I guess when I do pray, although it's with the tiniest shard of faith these days, I ask that my eyes will be opened to the truth, so as to avoid searching for the truth in circles. I know how weak I am without Christ, and so I pray for Him to throw me some kind of lifeline so I can stay afloat in my...

Re: I'm having doubts about my salvation again
I understand that pain is necessary, and I'm also willing to take hits for Christ throughout life. But the current pain I'm experiencing, if it really does continue with such intensity for years on end, I might have to just clock out. I know that's a terrible way to think about it, but it just seems...

Re: What if you were aborted?
True. Sometimes I forget that when we die here, it isn't the "be all, end all" so to speak. I guess it's hard to imagine growing and changing, and becoming more like yourself after this life just because it's the only life we know so far

Re: What if you were aborted?
I like FL's response. Good work.
I think I have another question to add to this thread:
What will aborted souls be like in heaven, since they didn't have time to develop any kind of character or personality while on Earth? Same goes for really young babies that die.

Re: I'm having doubts about my salvation again
I thought I had read this entire thread, but I guess I was wrong. Jestes, I just read your first post, and I can honestly say that is my situation to a T, but I haven't exactly gotten to the point of knowing where I stand, but your post gave me hope that I'll eventually get through this. It also rem...

Re: Service
Oh, Rick. What a charmer ;) But thank you both for your responses. I should've thought about the fact that God can use us and also divinely intervene, probably without us even knowing it sometimes. And yes, Callisto, I did think about the fact that it benefits us. Sometimes it's just hard to see how...

Re: Service
This isn't Hana, but since our usernames are similar at first glance, I completely understand your mistake haha Very true, they won't hear the gospel unless we preach it, so does that mean God does need us? Or is it just that He gave us the responsibility so that we would have an opportunity to serv...

Re: Service
I would say I guess the reason I started this thread in the first place was because I was questioning the need for witnessing to people. If others' salvation is indirectly affected by our own ability to evangelize to others, then I think that leaves a lot of people out there doomed. Why does God nee...

Re: Service
Yeah, I understand that. I don't mind serving Him. But what is the purpose? It's not to show my love for God; He already knows it. I just want to know the purpose behind it.
